I think you'll find that if a coalition government is not formed by the Largest party which is normally the case, the option of the next largest party trying to form a government is a non starter, in which case another election is called
Now, Now Tuffers we're supposed to be at peace with each other
Nope the 2nd place party is offered the chance to form a government .

Lib dems were swayed by places in Cabinet to form a govt with the Tory party
The Labour party promised they would accept Lib Dems pledge for no student fees .

Only if both of the largest parties can not reach an agreement to form a government will
another Election be called .

I am at peace ,with everyone , other than those that try to tell me there
knowledge of politics is greater than mine , when clearly it is not
If you are that good at politics then how come you don't know that Labour lost the last 4 general elections. your twisting of the truth is typical socialism
Im sorry that you have failed to grasp how General Elections work in the UK .

To win an Election in the UK you must get 326 seats
If you dont pass 326 seats Nobody wins
if nobody wins then nobody has lost

2 out of 4 Elections the Conservative Party got more than 326 seats .
in 2 of the elections they didnt .

As is clearly witten on the UK Parliaments General Election page under
Hung Parliament it is clear that 2 ot the 4 Elections were NOT WON .

Nothing to do with Socialism
Just to do with Knowing more about UK general Elections than you .

Suprising being I'm Irish & You i assume are from here .

https://www.parliament.uk/about/how/ele ... g/general/

What is a hung Parliament?

A 'hung Parliament' is a Parliament in which no political party wins a majority of seats. The largest party can either form a minority government or enter into a coalition government of two or more parties.

Typical Socialist resorting to telling lies made-up stories, name-calling, like spoilt little children in the school playground, you obviously want to live in a socialist country, so why don't you go live in Russia, you despise the electorate so much because they won't vote for you yet your happy enough to sponge off us bleating on about how bad everything here is. But you won't work or just to dam lazy to get a job, happy to take all the benefits then slag us off

The big moment has arrived, albeit a bit fluffed. Keith's 14,000 word essay has been leaked. No doubt a monumental shift in UK politics will ensue. Right?

Can't understand why Orient fans are so concerned at watching Labour. Labour is not in power & showing little likelihood of ever attaining power in the near future. It is the Tories who need scrutiny. They have had the power and been abusing it for years now. I give you: Liam Fox urging us to leave the EU saying a trade deal with US was easy ( last night on TV he denied it saying he never said that & that a trade deal would not be very satisfactory either; the gas debacle; worker shortages; Covid 19 debacle; bungs & dodgy deals to their mates; Raab sunning himself while Afghanistan burned. Watch them bl--dy Tories. Who knows what they are capable of doing next.

While you lot were celebrating last night he managed to get a proposal past the NEC that doubles the threshold for nominations from the PLP to stand as leader; scraps registered supporters and makes reselection of MPs an almost given

The fear of a loony left candidate winning because of OMOV is moot now given the new threshold

But other than that, a great win

I dont recognise Labour anymore. From the pink/blue posters, to the number of expulsions, it just isnt Labour anymore.

Whether this results in Starmer becoming PM at some time in the future, We shall have to wait and see, but no one now represents the poor in this country, ( Apart from Marcus Rashford), a sad state of affairs

Whether this results in Starmer becoming PM at some time in the future, We shall have to wait and see, but no one now represents the poor in this country, ( Apart from Marcus Rashford), a sad state of affairs
Gina Miller has just made application for a new political party to be registered, called 'True and Fair'.

Noting the resignation of Shadow Employment Rights minister Andy McDonald - timed to cause maximum embarrassment it would appear - the party is seemingly too embroiled in infighting, which is never a good look, and recalls the days of the early 80s. Something has to change. Andy Burnham waiting in the wings maybe, he remains the bookies favourite as the next Labour Leader.
