We dont currently produce enough food for the population we have . Therefore , building on farmland is not really a sensible suggestion is it. Or perhaps we should drain all the peat bogs and build on them or cut down Epping Forest and cover that with concrete .

And any further increase in population will impact the SE no doubt.
But it’s total population I’m talking about. France , for example, has a similar population but is twice the size of the UK .

That and geography. Human need and greed make people want to be closer to the action. Even Manchester and the industrial north is a bit of a wilderness to mainland Europe by car/lorry - hence the drift towards the closest crossing point.

It does not matter what is done by whatever government - in whatever country. There will always be a concentration of people around the areas capable of generating the most potential wealth.

There are 100s of sports pitches up& downt the country not being usrd , there are thousands of miles of national parks not being used , dont talk twaddle about us using all available land .

Raise taxes so we can cover the cost of food production meaning wr can eat cheaply .

My Mums family were farmers
My Dads grandparents were Farmers .

ive never heard a scientist yet say
wheat corn maize vegetables & fruit or rice has had anything to do with Climate Change . Please provide a link if you can find one .

Taxation of the wealthy & Buisness would provide all we need too in the way of food .
