Playing devils advocate i dont live in social housing and often disagree with the government or drive but what if they suspended similar buildings improvement programs or some other insentives till they stop it.
I am sure they could come up with something to capture the protestors attention

I thought the idea was that they were for people who struggle to afford housing? I imagine he earns plenty.

My experience of social housing was during the period 1965-1974 only. I loved it.

Currently I own only one home. It is a lovely property at the top of the hill in an exclusive village where the social housing is located down the hill. They seem to be happy down there but I don't go there that often so can't be sure.

Social housing can, and should, have a part to play in our overall housing strategy. And it should not just be seen as an option only for people on very low incomes. It can act as an effective counter-weight to a lop-sided private market.

Standard approach - don’t like the message, attack the messenger.

This is such an obvious one, it shouldn’t even be up for debate. All homes should be properly insulated.
Agreed - when the message is as blatant as "I want my home insulated and I want somebody else to pay for it" there's no need whatsoever to attack the messenger.

But that’s not what he’s saying, is it. He’s saying he wants all homes insulated.

Fancy trying to argue against that.

But he's not got around to doing his, despite having enough money and time to organise a protest.

This is correct. Providing cheap housing to people with a decent income frees up income that they can spend consuming things and so the economy rolls on.

This was my experience when I lived in social housing but it only works if there are well paid jobs.

Did you not see the post above about attacking the messenger rather than listening to the message?

Yeah, but he’s made himself look a proper tit

Basically what RH said. I don’t disagree with the group’s aims but this dunce is terrible for their image

If he’d come out and said he can’t afford to insulate his home I’d have more respect for him - the cost of being green is a massive problem and most the population don’t earn enough to justify such a lifestyle
