Re: Migrants crossing the channel
I do think that a lot of these human traffickers are telling these desperate people that the UK is still the land of milk and honey and you'll get a free house, job and a warm welcome etc etc.
Maybe some of the cash being spent on persuading the French to round up a few migrants might be better spent on a poster/SM campaign in their home countries explaining that the UK's not like that at all. Maybe some of them wouldn't risk their lives only to find out later that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I'm liking this idea. We bring back into service the vans that were used as part of Operation Vaken, send them to Tunisia et al but with different messages. Make sure that the messages have alongside them a picture of Priti Patel with that smirk that I recall Marina Hyde described as a nursury school child particularly pleased at having done a number two.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 5:09 pmHurrah for deep thinkers and their cunning solutions.o-no wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 5:04 pm I do think that a lot of these human traffickers are telling these desperate people that the UK is still the land of milk and honey and you'll get a free house, job and a warm welcome etc etc.

In the 1970s GB was regarded as an enlightened and tolerant, inspirational country.
Just where and how did it all go wrong?
GB is now a pathetic, mean spirited and racist back water.
What a sad state of affairs.
Johnson's pathetic delusions of grandeur are just an embarrassment.

Re: Migrants crossing the channel
Another delusion socialist throwback from Blairs open door policy of allowing loads of immigrants into the country thinking they would vote labour and keep them in power. Dressing it up as multicultural and diversity is good for the country, Multiculturalism doesn't work, never has never will do, we can't even get on with the "sweaty socks" so how the hell are we expected to get on with people who don't understand our culture and don't respect our way of life or rules of the country.E10EU wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 1:40 am In the 1970s GB was regarded as an enlightened and tolerant, inspirational country.

Re: Migrants crossing the channel
Most of the migrants were from the EU and were here legally. They provided the labour for important sectors of the economy like farming and transport. It was a capitalist solution not a socialist one.Type high wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:36 amAnother delusion socialist throwback from Blairs open door policy of allowing loads of immigrants into the country thinking they would vote labour and keep them in power. The important sectors of the economy are now short of workers, as unharvested crops and empty supermarket shelves demonstrate.

Yes , that will solve everything. Cover the country in concrete then build an Ark so we all have somewhere to live when it floodsRonnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 9:06 amAlexa, show me some birds eye view images of the English countryside.

Re: Migrants crossing the channel
Wages were driven down as the immigrants were prepared to work for lower money, hence the shortage of workers now, employers need to raise wages to a decent level again then.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:54 amMost of the migrants were from the EU and were here legally. He doesn't like people. He wants us all dead so that he can walk down Oxford Street on a shopping trip without having to zig zag constantly to avoid a people collision.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 11:07 amSo you’re one of these enviro hippies now?George wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 11:04 amYes , that will solve everything. Exactly Max. I have always been environmentalist , and yes , definitely the environment first and people second. But lets have a sensible debate about population. I dont care about the population make up of the UK . I only have concern for the numbers. So what do you think a sensible and sustainable population amount would be . Is it 60 million , 80- million , 100 million. At what point would you say " enough is enough " .Max B Gold wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 11:10 amHe doesn't like people. I know how many people can get in a 4 seater car , a 100 head restaurant , a 350 seat plane . So why don't we have a figure for a country .

The record for the number of people you can get in a 4 seater VW Beetle is 20.George wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 1:10 pmExactly Max.
