I know you put it in a nice list and it looks ever so factual, but it would be good to see some actual evidence to support your claim that:

“Her and her school friends did their research into ISIS propaganda and of their own agency plotted to leave the UK and join ISIS”

Most 14/15 year olds struggle to keep their bedroom tidy and hand their homework in on time, but this child was able to research a terrorist organisation and plot a route halfway round the world to get there? Right oh.
I wasn't listing facts. What I clearly said was "I think it's is reasonable to believe in the following."

Having read and heard plenty of accounts from people held in the ISIS camps, online information and guidance on how to travel was prolific at the time. ISIS invested considerable time and effort into designing effective communication that was easy to follow, as they had a vested interest in attracting as many recruits as possible.

And it really wasn't that complicated, or halfway round the world. You took a direct flight from the UK into Turkey and from there there were plenty of routes being advertised to the Syrian border. Most of this could be travelled using local buses. There's some similarity with how open and brazen some of the immigration routes are being advertised in Turkey for those trying to get into parts of Europe and the UK.

Sure, I get it that this would have been daunting for many 15 year olds. But you need to factor in their belief, determination and that they would have eventually been in the company of fellow recruits on that same journey. It's important not to underestimate the shared-experience/joy factor, as they all headed off on their wonderful little adventure.

The profile of Shamina previously was that she was a smart and promising student, so she needs to be given some credit that she may have been intelligent enough to follow instructions and guidance, and not a passive grooming victim. I recall on the BBC an estimate that something in the region of 900 Britons may have gone to join ISIS. That's just from Britain. I have no idea how many from across the rest of the world also made that decision and journey but, given that a percentage of them would have been thickos, ISIS communication will have been idiot-proof. It had to be.

Sure, I accept it's entirely possible that Shamina and her school friends got extra special attention and treatment that the thousands of others didn't. But my point is that it wouldn't have been necessary, as anyone captivated by the 'allure' of the caliphate would have found easy-to-follow instructions that any idiot could understand. Even a child.
Sure, and I think it’s reasonable to assume that this young kid was groomed into making such an idiotic decision.

Yeah, because having a messy bedroom and not bothering with your homework means you don’t know how to look things up on the internet and book flights. Brilliant false equivalence

I don’t think I’d have a clue how to book flights at 15 nevermind get to the airport, find out where I’m meant to be etc etc. Maybe kids are more savvy these days.

There is something about the way that this woman is being treated by the British State that smells of making her the poster girl for the British state to assert "we are tough on terrorists and we have dealt with ISIS".

Just contemplating the 2 different scenarios: when she appeared in photos in traditional Muslim dress, she was "othered" as not British.
Now that she appears like millions of other young British women in dress style and speech, she is still presented as 'dangerous and untrustworthy' by Government bodies and the media.

Even people who have been CONVICTED personally of actual killings may eventually apply and be considered for parole ....

If a family member or friend had a child which then died at a young age you would feel some sympathy?
If that same family/ community member had 2 other children die at a very young age, surely no words could possibly convey acknowledgements of such horrendous experience on the mother?

Now, I absolutely am not advocating that 'wrongdoings' should be overlooked if the mother suffered something so unimaginably horrendous as 3 dead children. But the media (and government) gives no acknowledgement to this, almost as if this women's 3 dead children weren't really human, had an impact on Shamina's life or mattered.

Regardless of the rights and wrongs or feelings on the matter this woman is never coming back.
Political suicide for the Tories and quite probably for a modernised Labour party too

It’s wrong.

I’m guessing she will end up back here eventually, after a load of time and money has been wasted.

She will be back if Labour ever get back into power. Tory Governments love the Shamina Begums of this world. It takes the plebs minds off the utterly abject way we control our borders and makes them seem tough on immigration and law and order at the same time. Win win. The fact she is just a young girl who would be the most watched young girl in the UK if she ever came back with a chance of reoffending rate of zero is by the bye. I couldn’t give a to ss if she came back.

According to this article, some 400 ISIS fighters had returned to the UK (as at 2019). 400 ! (and probably more by now)

https://www.ft.com/content/11fd7c00-079 ... bacad9e7dd

So why the different treatment for this kid? I can't imagine she's any more likely to be a danger to the rest of us that the lads who've actually picked up a rifle over there.

I'd say bring her over and, if she's broken the law here, have a trial and settle it. If her age and the grooming are mitigating circumstances - and it certainly feels like that's the case, but let's see it tested - then that will be taken into account in the trial and in any sentencing. I can't see why it's more complicated than that.

Anyone capable of rational thought will agree that it's only right she is brought back to the UK. She's no more a danger, and probably a lot less, than the hundreds of ISIS devotees that have already returned. But she's become a political football, and Bera has called it right.

She almost certainly will end up back here after a lot of wasted time and money. And when that happens it will be framed as the fault of the unelected Judges/Labour/Metropolitan Elite/the woke mob etc. Or Corbyn.

It wasn't any old spokesman speaking on behalf of the not fit for purpose Met but one of the officers investigating her case.

I'm assuming there is no case to answer because if there was the CPS would be seeking to extradite her to stand trial in the UK.
