I think what is odd is she'd have more of a shot at a second chance and rehabilitation if she'd murdered someone in cold blood here. She's been put in some unprecedented category of evil that, as far as I'm aware, no other kid ever has.

That's not to downplay the seriousness of what she did, but the home office has effectively tried to write her life off on the grounds of her being a second generation immigrant. That is the only reason it was even vaguely possible to remove her citizenship (though still doubt it'll hold in courts.) They could not have done it if her parents were born in the UK.
