Sitting in the bar drinking on the ground floor probably not the best choice though.
I was on the 47th floor of Canary Wharf. Trying to keep my staff calm and convince them we were safe.

Who were you working for? I can’t remember who was up there. I was with Bear Stearns.

Absolute garbage post, if you're going to deviate from the post topic at least be funny or relevant. This is such a waste of time.

I was with BoNY then as well. Bit nervy being in a meeting on the 49th floor the following day and having planes taking off straight towards us from City.

Don't understand what you're trying to say here. I was simply trying to deal with a difficult situation (and, yes, I understand it was zero on the trauma scale in comparison)

Was in my current workplace at the University of Manchester. My wife rang to tell me (she was on maternity leave as my daughter was born on 18/8). I passed on the news to the rest of the office but we couldn't find out anything else as the internet was totally overloaded.

Came home from school hearing there had been some sort of plane accident in America. Turned on the TV and sat watching wide eyed at what was happening, kept watching solidly for about 6 hours

I was in my office at the Marriott Dalmahoy, outside Edinburgh. We got a message through that a plane had hit the Marriott at WTC (incorrectly, as it turned out). At the time we all thought it must have been a small plane or helicopter, and were obviously concerned for our colleagues in NY (Marriott made much of the "Marriott family" and we knew one of two names and faces from that property.

We rushed down to the staff room and got a TV on as the full extent of the tragedy unfolded.

Was at work in central London. Then watched Stereophonics at the Scala in Kings Cross that night.

Was also at the top of the Twin Towers two weeks to the day before it happened as stopped in New York as part of my honeymoon
