The QR code proof of vax is commonly in use here in France. You are not admitted into a resto without the document (paper copy or on mobile). People seem to accept it perfectly happily and those who do not have the paperwork or have forgotten it normally find space outside on a terrace with the smokers. (OK while the sun shines)
Frankly, it all seems a bit wacky to me anyway. I hear being jabbed doesn't stop you carrying the disease, nor does it inhibit your ability to pass it on to some other poor sod. So he who asserts that his civil rights would be infringed if he could not go unprotected into an indoor event is really just asserting his right to die young... isn't he?

If case numbers go up drastically there
Will be pressure on hospitals . If hospitals
Are under pressure , it is inevitable there will be
Further lockdowns .

If the Hospitals arent under pressure there
Probably wont be a lockdown .see pretty much the same as last March really .

The i newspaper said plans had been drawn up to extend the school half-term holiday, if the number of hospitalisations continue at the current level.

The i said a full lockdown was unlikely - but the government could introduce some rules as part of a "firebreak".

However the Department for Education said the report was "not true".

"It is not true that the government is planning a lockdown or firebreak around the October half term," it said in a tweet.

" The prime minister's spokesman also denied the report. He said plans had been kept for a range of scenarios - "but these kind of measures would only be reintroduced as a last resort to prevent unsustainable pressure on our NHS".

Been looking at the data again today and am wondering if there is a stat for average length of hospital stay now compared to previous points? Hospital admissions are going up by 900/day but if people aren't in for so long due to better protection from vaccine/better treatment available then presumably it's not so much an issue as it was (accepting that there will be outliers in the data) going forward (when hospitalisations will inevitable rise)

Once they are at capacity , then the problems start for

With Vaccine passports in the pipeline it also looks like exemptions that are self declared and require no proof will also come with them (as with masks)

Along with a threat of prosecution under the Equalities Act if you ask for proof or refuse entry to said individual

Vaccine passports would be a great idea is the vaccines actually worked well, but they don't
Transmission of the virus is the same vaccinated or not
Having 2 jabs, makes you less likely to suffer badly, but it doesn't stop transmission, so what's the point .
There have been loads of people who have been double jabbed and have got covid, and some have died
One last point. Antibodies last about six months, so people who were jabbed in the spring must be nearing the end of their antibodies, so they become just as vulnerable as they were before
This has all been handled badly from day one

It’s my closest supermarket and it hiked prices before lockdown 1. It also relied on their staff, who were putting themselves in danger without the option of a vaccine for over a year, to keep them going.

Experience so far is that clubs and festivals are asking for negative tests as a condition of entry, but the NHS lateral flow ones are basically an honesty box system. You can just scan and lie about the result.
