This should help.
Housed and £40 a week by the looks of it while they wait for the claim to be processed, pass and the whole family can come over. Fail and we ask them nicely to leave while funding their appeal and ongoing living costs. You couldnt make it up!
For clarity:
Free healthcare and education throughout too (even post application failure)

I dont begrudge people trying to make a better life for their families, but its easy to see why we are seen as the land of milk and honey when this is what people get when they go about their application the wrong way. I bet those trying to do it legally get much less.

As soon as they are in the water (thats in France) they need rescue, so its France who are breaking the law first.
But surely they are 9nly ever in English Waters
Being its the English Channel
Bump them round to the Irish Sea then 🤣
Not likely to happen
EU & American warships would put a stop to that
GFA & all that

Asylum seekers get no choice in where they live. Most are initially placed in hostel-type accommodation before longer-term housing is arranged.
"initially"

£40 per week, per person, more if you're a child or pregnant, doesnt sound great to you or me, but with no housing costs its probably a sweet deal for your average asylum seeker. I wouldnt be shocked if many actually find work on the black market too.

I know you're just doing your schtick, and it's all simply hilarious, but you're also adding to the general hostility towards these people (and they are people, BTW). Think on, eh?

You dont offer YOUR OPINION .

You just make rather Snidy comments
With no ability to back anything up .

Try offering a well thought out opinion &
Maybe people will treat you a little differently .

Or just try to be funny

You are failing miserably so far &
Id like to see you do better .

Imbecile of the year is upon us soon enough &
We dont want you winning that now do we.

Don’t get your point? They are going through a process by which the government decides if they are entitled to asylum. The rules state they cannot get jobs, what should we be giving them instead of 40 quid a week?

Part of the problem is that the process is too attractive. I dont know what the answer is, but to pay for people to live and for their appeal if they fail is just farcical. Do other countries have a similar asylum claims process? Does international law say we have to have such a generous process?

It would be cheaper to fly all arrivals straight home, but that wouldnt be allowed either.

It's not farcical. It's called human rights.

From what I gather it’s because our system is inefficient and takes a year; which we also use to tell them they can’t find work.

What you seen to be proposing is sending everyone back whilst we process the claims? Do you think that’s sensible considering you could be sending people back to certain death? Or is it worth paying someone 2 grand for a year even if they aren’t legal and not risk then possibility of the first scenario happening?

It's not illegal for refugees to seek asylum in the UK. Try to look beyond your innate racism.

Its a lot more than two grand, you forgot housing costs. Its not just the money, it sends a message that it is a right and legitimate way to do things, encourages more to attempt the crossing. It is jumping the queue.

Would you rather they starved to death?

Let them work and I'm sure they would enjoy the dignity it brings when you can pay your own way in the world.
