Re: Cult Films
Holy Mountain is genuinely one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen. It’s complete garbage, too.Kent wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 2:11 pm In case any film buffs are keen to attend cult film screenings in East London, I organise and host a monthly cult film evening + post-film discussion at the Genesis Cinema on the Mile End Road...

Re: Cult Films
Genuine question: Is it considered rude if someone watches and leaves. I'd be up for watching, but I'm not one for analysing its meaning, etc.Kent wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 2:11 pm In case any film buffs are keen to attend cult film screenings in East London, I organise and host a monthly cult film evening + post-film discussion at the Genesis Cinema on the Mile End Road...

What do you mean? Like watching Brokeback Mountain and have to go as you cannot contain your excitement?LittleMate wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 1:18 pmGenuine question: Is it considered rude if someone watches and leaves. Re: Cult Films
Totally fine to just watch the movie and not stay for the post-film discussion
Also...
As for any other comments by others on the event. Being excited or even aroused by any homoerotic elements is of course naturally fine.

Re: Cult Films
The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943)
A UK film - one of the early colour movies
which was banned by Churchill simply for portraying a German (Prussian) officer in a sympathetic light.
This film is massively under-rated and worth a watch

Seeing Tom Courtney bonking Charlotte Rampling in 39 years cleared 25% of the meagre audience including me.LittleMate wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 1:18 pmGenuine question: Is it considered rude if someone watches and leaves. Typical Lynch something-weird-happening-in-suburbia flick, with one of movies most scary villain portrayals by Dennis Hopper.next event - Blue Velvet' on Thursday 23rd September, 6.15pm
