How hard can it be to find these gangs when they advertise their services?

No. By "not playing ball" they are preventing the UK government from breaking the law in the first instance.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:43 amBut they're not willing/not rescuing them when they're in their waters, so that is breaking the law right?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:30 amSacre Bleu!! As I first thought, France just not willing to play ball. I cant say I blame them, why should they rescue so many who dont want to be in France and are putting themselves at risk?
Patel is already paying France £55 Million to try and stop the flow. If all the costs of preventing refugees getting here were used to fund an orderly resettlement programme it probably wouldn't cost much more.

Why not give it a go yourself and find out and report back to us instead of bombarding the Board with inane questions. Spamming is against Board rules. Ban yourself.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:59 am How hard can it be to find these gangs when they advertise their services?

A country can have an issue with racism and still be a better place for an asylum seeker to live than a warzone or economic catastrophe area.Ornchurch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:51 amWere the BLM protests not about racism in this country? Re: Migrants crossing the channel
The gangs are from a variety of locations (i.e. Ukraine, Iran, Vietnam) over which we have little or no jurisdiction/influence. Even in Turkey, where most transactions are conducted, there's not much we can do. Also, as one gang is disrupted, another will always replace it.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:59 am How hard can it be to find these gangs when they advertise their services?

As soon as they are in the water (thats in France) they need rescue, so its France who are breaking the law first.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:00 amNo. By "not playing ball" they are preventing the UK government from breaking the law in the first instance.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:43 amBut they're not willing/not rescuing them when they're in their waters, so that is breaking the law right?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:30 am

Good thread here on the legality of Patel's latest populist but unlikely to be legal master-plan.

I can see why boat turning might not be legal, since it could only be done from our waters and if they're in our waters they have to be rescued. Could hinge on this
"a place of safety" is quite vague.Rescued people must be treated humanely and delivered to a place of safety."

You realise that there can be racism and racists in our country, without it being The Most Racist Country in the World, right?Ornchurch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:51 amWere the BLM protests not about racism in this country? What about selling self detonating Dinghies at the border? Designed to self combust in say 2 hours and before they get half way.

I realise a lot of things. I also see us being the most self flagellating country in the world when it comes to this issue, especially when it comes to football.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 12:10 pmYou realise that there can be racism and racists in our country, without it being The Most Racist Country in the World, right?Ornchurch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:51 amWere the BLM protests not about racism in this country? It happened again the other night in Hungary. We can’t criticise the Hungarians too much because we have issues that we have to address ourselves whereas the Hungarians approach is to point the finger at us for what happened at the Euros.

He says that they cannot be taken to somewhere where they maybe be persecuted. Maybe greyhound, Putney, Ornchurch and Bera are cleverer than we think and have found a loophole.

Think a country that is capable of reflecting on how it could do better on issues to do with race is in a better place than one that wants a slap on the back for no longer chucking banana skins at people playing a game or straight up shouting racial abuse.Ornchurch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 1:15 pmI realise a lot of things. Housed and £40 a week by the looks of it while they wait for the claim to be processed, pass and the whole family can come over. Fail and we ask them nicely to leave while funding their appeal and ongoing living costs. You couldnt make it up!Admin wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 1:24 pmhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-53734793Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:38 am What are these people actually getting once they arrive?
