Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
Bit gutted tbh that we have sold these two especially JK. I know that they had buy out clauses but cant see Salford selling say Carl Pelligraini

Depends on the contract clauses inserted when they joined. Non topic. Look at prem clubs who also lose strikers.

Rooney will be earning more at Salford than he could at a L1 club. So no, he wouldn’t want to move.

Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
Green signed a 2.5yr contract at the end of last year and his contract was paid up. Paying him off will have been a big hit but under SCMP the owners can offset ridiculous wages by injecting funds as turnover. Only having three men and a dog turning up to games isn't a problem.

Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
That. They are on a completely different situation to us, and don't have strikers like Koroma and Bonne that would have attracted interest from Championship clubs. It's not a comparison worth making.

Think AylesburyO is just having a big sulk and this is a classic example of his lack of football knowledge

Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
Salford"s strikers weren't that great and I bet they weren't cheap for National league level. Bonne was a great find and cost nothing and delivered goals under immense pressure for two seasons. Koroma , what a talented player.
With a higher standard of service we would have been champions by January.

Also, why on Earth does it matter what Salford would do? Think this thread is just trolling.

Salford wont sell unless the player wants to leave or they want to get rid of them.End of story.

Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
Please explain the details of his contract. I’m interested in knowing. Plus of course what went on when his agent was in discussions with the club and what if any verbal agreements they made, which if any, I have no doubt the club would. Have honoured contract or not.
There is also the issue of refusing an offer and having a pissed off player for a year, before he pisses off for nothing.

Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
The big difference- Not just with Salford but any side further down the leagues is Koroma/Bonne are still both under 23. It’s far easier to keep more established players for a multitude of reasons, not just their age but off the pitch as well, families etc.
Danny Rowe’s been scoring for fun at Fylde for a few seasons now and if he was Bonne’s age, he’d have gone long ago into the football league. It’s why we’ll have no problem holding on to some of our best players from last season that are more experienced.
You can’t begrudge a young player the chance to move up 2 leagues. And in all likelihood player power is such these days that Salford may not be able to keep their best young players either in years to come (they just didn’t have any stand out ones last season to my knowledge)

Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
Very good post. The crucial difference is the age/ experience of the relative players. Bonne & Koroma can potentially get better and are therefore more sought after - Rooney & Gaffney are pretty much known quantities - effective but limited long term upside. No guarantees about Bonne & Koroma of course but clubs like Charlton and Huddersfield are obviously prepared to take a calculated risk.Jman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 10:21 am The big difference- Not just with Salford but any side further down the leagues is Koroma/Bonne are still both under 23. Re: Would Salford sell their prize strikers?
Think AylesburyO was referring to their most important player, a mountain at the back who ended up their 3rd top scorer despite the number of strikers at the club.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2019 1:14 amThink AylesburyO is just having a big sulk and this is a classic example of his lack of football knowledge
