Re: Brexit
McDs are out of milkshakes but I heard it was due to a number of factors - Brexit, Covid and declining wages.

Re: Brexit
Great news that fast food options are being limited. About time people ate locally sourced healthier options instead

Re: Brexit
Is it not the same people that complain about low wages and poor conditions , then complain that they cant buy a chicken for 50p . Its consumers , surely , that have driven the price down . Our unwillingness to pay a fair price for anything means low wages for those that produce itRonnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 12:39 pmMcDs are out of milkshakes but I heard it was due to a number of factors - Brexit, Covid and declining wages.

Re: Brexit
How dare poor people moan about low wages and buy cheap, crap food. Perhaps there might be a cross over there?George wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:29 pmIs it not the same people that complain about low wages and poor conditions , then complain that they cant buy a chicken for 50p . Re: Brexit
Get your point , but i wasn't limiting the moaning to the poor . We all do it . As consumers we all want cheap products . Thats why Aldi and Lidl do so well.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:43 pmHow dare poor people moan about low wages and buy cheap, crap food. Re: Brexit
Its basic economics . Pay more for your product , hopefully pay higher wages . But then , of course , you lose a percentage of your wage increase paying more for the things you want. There is a balance which , i fear , we have moved to far away from in the wrong direction.
And by the way , low wages dont always mean buying cheap , crap food . Ask the Italians . Their most famous dishes evolved from poor families recipes.

Same with the food banks, they’re always doing a roaring trade.George wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 2:16 pmGet your point , but i wasn't limiting the moaning to the poor . We all do it . Re: Brexit
One of the things Brexit supporters are keeping very quiet about. If Brexit was so bloody good, why aren't other EU members following the UK's bold move out of the exit door? Ummmmmmmmmmm!!!!!

Re: Brexit
No, pay more for your product, pay more in bonuses to CEOs and dividends to shareholders.
The companies don’t just hand over their excess profits to staff.

Re: Brexit
Agreed . But without a serious reset , we are too far down the Capitalist road to change . Would everybody be happy under a different economic model. I doubt it . There will always be winners and losers. Perhaps the gap would narrow between the two.

Re: Brexit
Give it time . The countries who are the financial contributors are now feeling the strain . No beneficiary country will leave while receiving free EU money . Question . How many countries are waiting to join the EU who will be financial contributors. ? All I see is begging countries in line .Clive Evans wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 2:36 pm One of the things Brexit supporters are keeping very quiet about. Re: Brexit
You're right. We are too far gone. Society is broken. Too many selfish people who are scared to loose out for the betterment of society.
It will continue for many years to come until some sort of natural disaster or huge uprising from the people, but i'll be long gone.

Re: Brexit
Ok. So that’s one. What about the rest of the UK. I will go with the majority, as we all have to in a democracy.

Just because your view is in the majority, it doesn’t mean it’s the right one, especially as lots of people are thick. Approximately half of all people are below average intelligence, for starters.

Re: Brexit
My views are pretty open on the subject . I am happy as it is but would not reject a change out of hand. I disagree that people with money do not care about those that do not have as much . Its too broad a statement to judge people like that . There are plenty of wealthy people who give enormously both time and money to help others .
