Windrush Memorial
Now this discredited, shambolic rabble of a government have announced a memorial to the Windrush generation is to be built at Waterloo.
Wouldn’t this money be better spent on actually paying compensation to these hard working and loyal immigrants and their families who have been totally screwed for this generation?
In similar Nasty Party fashion, I look forward to millions being spent on a Grenfell Memorial whilst those families mourn their murdered brethren and rot away in cockroach infested B&B accommodation.

Re: Windrush Memorial
They won’t. You honestly think those screwed over give a jot for a hunk of brass ignored by commuters?

Re: Windrush Memorial
Agree with the sentiment but not really sure what the cockroach infested B&B accommodation comment is about. Just manifestly not true.

Re: Windrush Memorial
Are you insinuating that a degree of hyperbole has been added to make the point that some of the temporary accommodation has been less than satisfactory?Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:24 am Agree with the sentiment but not really sure what the cockroach infested B&B accommodation comment is about. Re: Windrush Memorial
Rather pompously put TBH. However, as you previously conceded, the original point is valid. Let’s see proper compensation given to all the Windrush victims before money is thrown at a memorial which is more about assauging the conscience of the government.

Re: Windrush Memorial
We can agree on that.
I won't say anything more and didn't really mean to be pompous (for once) but it's odd seeing so many lies thrown around about things you know are absolutely not true. It started with David Lammy claiming survivors of GT had been sent to Preston with a tenner and has continued ever since.

Will agree whole-heartedly and yes, hyperbole in this case was unnecessary.Proposition Joe wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:38 am We can agree on that.
