Re: Koroma to Huddersfield Town (Rumour)
There had better be or questions may start being asked about our finances. Minimum 6 signings required if not more.eagwgw wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 6:56 pm Let's not panic lads.
Got £700k from sales.
Increased ticket revenues.
Increased TV money, is it £1m?
Get academy grants reinstated.
Targeted loss of over a million next season.... think the wage bill is lower than was last year with senior pros like Lee/Lawless/Mooney/Elokobi dropping off it.
It seems to me there will be a lot of money to spend on wages. Can't mess up the next signings now.
4 strikers out the door (include Alabi in that)
1 signed
2 CMs out the door
1 signed
Winger required also.
Bear in mind our NL level squad is untested at L2 level, no guarantee all of last season's squad will make the step up. Without experience and cover we're in trouble.

This is worrying, cannot see how we can replace Josh effectively.gshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 6:49 pmSo much for the malicious rumour
We need a large number of signings and we need them quickly. Any illusion we could get through the summer adding 2 is well and truly shattered now.
Massive changes ahead now as our whole style of play relied on Bonne and Koroma's pace and skill.
I will be really alarmed if we dont sign 1 or 2 good forwards & will feel let down by the owners.
I believe that both would have left with or without Justin.

From what I hear the club have to pay some outstanding debts off ASAP hence Bonne and Koroma exiting

Concerning given the income from tickets, sponsorship etc. has never been higher but equally wouldn't be surprised given the loss we made last year.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 7:09 pmI think your talking tosheagwgw wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2019 6:56 pm Let's not panic lads.

Salford are offering far higher wages than us, obviously.
Danny Rowe for some reason won't leave Fylde. But Fylde have sold Tas-Demir for a large sum.

Re: Koroma to Huddersfield Town (Rumour)
As with Bonne, Koroma was promised a move after signing his contract extension if we went up. He would have been out of contract otherwise and we would probably have got peanuts for him at a tribunal because he would have left to further his career Both lads get to further their careers and we get a decent fee to strengthen the squad.
Some of the hysterical responses on here are beyond pathetic. the club honoured Its agreement with the players who delivered for us last season, new faces will come in and as with Wilkinson they have almost certainly been lined up by the management team. Pending completion of the Koroma sale.
As for finance, we will have fees for the players and in addition the club was refinanced earlier in the summer so wages etc are not going to be an issue.

The only good thing is that it has happened now, not close to season. We have good deal of time to recruit.

No new experienced first team coach and both our top goal scorers leaving. I'm not panicking but I'm currently very concerned.

Agree with Stillsy fwiw. Guess offers will be going into other clubs early next week if not already.

Re: Koroma to Huddersfield Town (Rumour)
They're not permitted to disclose the fee so anything we hear will be speculation. No doubt we will hear variations of the absolute minimum it's worth and the absolute maximum.
Re: Koroma to Huddersfield Town (Rumour)
MacAnthony said something about Matt Stevens in that a club were waiting for money from a striker to sign him.
Not particularly sure he fits the bill any more. WIlkinson is not really proven as a League player, having two of them as first choices is a bit of a gamble. Ideally we need two strikers and Harrold and Wilkinson as backup. I quite liked the strike force we had before they left, had a bit of everything so maybe we could go for similar traits.
I wonder if James Alabi might still have a role to play. Interesting to see if he is assigned a squad number.

Re: Koroma to Huddersfield Town (Rumour)
This season some turnover in the team/squad is no bad thing IMO. Can't help but feel following the recent tragedy that we needed to bring in some players that didn't work with Edinburgh as the season will be easier for those that didn't know him so well or were close to him.
Ideally we wouldn't have lost both Bonne and Koroma, but we should be able to get in another replacement who will be an asset to the team. This isn't a blind call to keep the faith but I trust the management to bring in the players we need.

Re: Koroma to Huddersfield Town (Rumour)
Much easier to resolve this one then then Bonne loss. Not as many goals to replace and JMD look like he has more about him creativity wise. Koroma was excellent but also infuriatingly selfish at times. Good business and good luck to Koroma, he stayed and showed his worth which has paid off and hope he goes on to get some first team football for Huddersfield.
