Rumours (basically, hacks posting on Twitter) abound that Labour is up the creek at the moment in terms of finances. Reserves now down to just one month’s payroll. Lost members' subscriptions and costs of dealing with anti-Semitism cases are taking their toll. Voluntary severance is being offered to all NEC-funded staff. Allegedly.

Dawn Butler calls Boris Johnson a liar and is asked to leave the House of Commons.
So the person calling out the lies is chucked out, but the person who's lying, is allowed to stay and carry on lying. ???

Just as polls show a closing of the gap between Labour and the tories, along come the fruit-loop wingnuts to reignited their hate campaign against Rosie Duffield and remind everyone that a vote for Labour also endorses them. They've got to be Tory plants.

Alternatively they may just disagree with Duffield and consider that her views are not in line with Labour "values".

As far as I can tell she liked a tweet by a gay man who said he disliked the term queer. Why is that not in line with Labour values?

It's hard to tell what values Labour has these days so I can't really answer that question. Besides I understand there is a bit more to it than just liking a single tweet.

By many accounts, this bloke is a bit of a wrongun. However, in this instance, his tweet was objecting to the term "Queer" being supposedly reclaimed by other men who are heterosexual but identify as women.

In the past she has also shown support for actual women who have voiced concerns about men being able to simply identify as women, as if that's no big thing. And that even so much as a raised eyebrow at this notion is 'hateful' and 'transphobic' because it hurts their feelings.

She's basically a fascist.

Plenty of Tory plants these days. Or is that Tory Planks. Trouble is these Tory plants are up against Labour weeds so they look better than they are.

What is there to object to? Surely people can call themselves anything they want. What business is it of an MP to attempt to control language and interfere in the identity issues of some people?

It’s not what she said but it’s the way she said it . She could have still called him a lier but in a roundabout way. Believe it or not apparently they have a code of conduct.Anyway that’s the way I understood it this morning listening to the radio

Fair enough. Would this rule equally apply if people wish to assume all other forms of identity?

An example would be useful but I think you will find that in a society of individuals most people form their own identity anyway.

What have the Tories done these last few weeks that has struck people as worse than anything from the last 18 months? After everything that's happened is it really the NI rise that's hurt them?

Final nail in the coffin. The Tories have been behaving like Blair’s Labour for some time. They are now heading off into Corbyn territory. I know the left detest anything with a blue rosette but the consensus amongst Tory voters at the moment is that Boris Johnson is a big liberal jelly and the Tories have completely abandoned their core voters. As I said on another thread, all Starmer has to do is nothing and the Tory vote will stay at home in the next election ergo Labour win.

I don’t think it’s the 1% rise as such, more that they’ve broken their election pledge. Voters are now unsure if they can trust the tories after that.
