I suppose that's what you get with less testing.

Re: Coronavirus
Yeah, your mate George posted this before. As has been pointed out several times, less testing tends to lead to lower new infections found. Funny that.

How much are tests down? Cases are down 38% in London has the drop in tests fallen by a significant amount?

Re: Coronavirus
The Gov UK site only shows PCR tests up until 20th July. It does show Lateral tests declining up to the 24th though. Where are you getting that graph from?Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 2:49 pm How much are tests down? Cases are down 38% in London has the drop in tests fallen by a significant amount?
It would be more meaningful to be using the same datasource.

Re: Coronavirus
Well that doesn't link to any source data, and the Times article does show a drop in testing.
Plus the graph you show comes from "Politics for All" - isn't this run by some 18 year old young Conservative wazzock?
To be absolutely honest, I'd bloody love your graph to be an accurate indication of our current situation. I don't really care if I'm wrong and you're right just as long as the situation is improving. However, it's too early to see the full impact of opening up last Monday and in the meantime we do know that Hospital admissions and Critical Care bed use are both up so you'll have to excuse my not doing cartwheels just yet.

It's hardly up to date reliable information.

Re: Coronavirus
I wouldn’t be surprised if it does go down.
My gut feel is that people might be showing symptoms but just won’t bother to get tested anymore, as Covid is now over.

Re: Coronavirus
The figures are unreliable, and misleading.
Better statistics are the number of people being admitted to hospital and no. Of patients on ventilators, both of which are up.
Anyone who thinks this pandemic is receding, is naive, or just plain stupid.
It isn't, I'm afraid

Re: Coronavirus
I don’t think that anyone can doubt that the combination of the vaccine and immunity are having an impact on the virus. Positive cases falling for 6 days in a row is not simply a case of less testing. Surely the vaccine is limiting the number of people needing a test.
We all knew that the only way out of this was a vaccine. We have one and it appears to be working as they said it would.
Even the scientists are cautiously optimistic. Everybody took notice of them when they told us how bad this virus would be. Why not listen to them now

Re: Coronavirus
Tests are down 10%, cases are down about 50%. So the drop in cases can’t all be down to less testing.

Re: Coronavirus
If the data is correct and we’re genuinely seeing less virus, then the surge throughout June and into the start of July is purely down to the Euros. That’s staggering.

Also being double jabbed desn't mean that you won't get COVID both me and the other half got it about two weeks after our second jabs.George wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:46 am I don’t think that anyone can doubt that the combination of the vaccine and immunity are having an impact on the virus. It was like a bad cold for me no cough only realised a few days in when I lost my sense of smell it's only partially come back three weeks later.

This may well be true for many people. If vaccines reduce Covid to the levels of a bad cold, then that’s good.JimbO wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 11:00 amAlso being double jabbed desn't mean that you won't get COVID both me and the other half got it about two weeks after our second jabs.George wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 3:46 am I don’t think that anyone can doubt that the combination of the vaccine and immunity are having an impact on the virus.
