Seeing people out today still wearing masks as chin straps was quite amusing.

I for one will continue to wear my protective mask on public transport and when I'm in shops .

The same people that didn’t wear a mask before , who didn’t take any notice of lockdown, and who probably didnt watch the news , will continue to not do the same. We are not preaching to them. The responsibility now lies with responsible people behaving responsibly. And they will continue to do so.

But back then, you were well within your rights to turn around and state your case. You can’t anymore.

Like I said, you can behave as responsibly as you want but it’s pointless when all those around you are not.

Tesco's at Baker's Arms this morning had as a guesstimate about 70-80% people wearing masks. That's about the same as I've seen before, perhaps slightly less.

The people not wearing them were mostly men 20-40yrs, IMO the same demographic that were also most likely not to comply before "Freedom Day".

Official cases seem to be falling since they hit 50k/day, though the cases from the ONS survey are still rising.

You have to wonder if less tests are now being performed/recorded in the same way. As we've now unlocked the door and let rip the virus it seems highly unlikely that new infections would decrease. Much more likely would be a lower testing rate which would obscure the effect of reducing restrictions. On the flip side, beds being occupied in critical care are steadily climbing and that seems a much better barometer to me.

Yep, tests are down slightly. Also, the impact of the ending of all restrictions won't filter through for a week or two.

Not when test numbers are down, community cases are still rising and we've yet to see the impact of opening up.

The infection numbers have gone down because there are less tests being done. It's not positive news at all.

Meanwhile, beds used in critical care are increasing rapidly i.e. the NHS is getting busier. That's definitely not positive news.
