It's only contentious because of the anti-vax wing-nuts around at the moment.

On the surface it seems to be reasonible but it is still forcing people to take the jab to keep their job.
Who knows the long term effect of the vacines?

An alternative would be, no mandatory vaccine but if a game is postponed due to an outbreak, the guilty team will forefeit the game and three points to the other side

Another viewpoint is that healthy footballers are not randomly tested, delete the NHS app from their phones and get on with everyday day life

Footballers, like all humans, have been getting sick for generations and we've coped.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 11:03 am Until they get sick and matches get abandonned or they infect the 65 year old kit man
How can I put it in a way that it is universally understood? Healthy man take test. Test faulty. Test come back positive. Man must isolate. Government say cases rising. Must impose restrictions. People must have jab.
It’s Kafkaesque, but the people still hold all the aces. It’s very simple. Delete the b*stard app and tell them to get stuffed when they ask you to have a test. If you haven’t had a jab yet, don’t. You’ll be amazed at how quickly this will go away.

Re: Premier League to make vaccines mandatory
I can't believe the way some on here believe everything this government tells them to believe.
They're told the vaccine is effective, so people just believe it
The government tells us it's safe, so people just believe that too.. No-one knows the long term side effects of these vaccines yet, but people are so quick to advocate it for others.
How do we know that in 5 years time those who have had the vaccine won't develop tumors, or that future generations will become sterile, or a million other things.
Fact... No one knows what effects this vaccine has, yet the PL want to destroy people's careers based on what..... On nothing.
We have the most lying government EVER, yet most are prepared to believe them.
People need to wake up before it's too late.
And by the way, I'm not an anti vaxxer either. Vaccines have saved millions of lives during the 20 th century.

It's not just the givernment though is it? It's a multitude of people with medical expertise advocating for them versus random guy who doesn't
I believe them (and the case to hospitalisation rates support them) more than random conspiracy peddlers like yourself on the internet.

It didn’t come into existence over a few months. The basis for the vaccine has been developed over a very long time, what what done quickly was the modification process to match Covid-19. The flu Jab changes every year and quickly too. This done quickly stuff needs to be looked into!Beradogs wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 1:32 pmIt’s nothing to do with anti vax wing nuts. I have no idea if the AZ vaccine was tested on animals, part way through the vaxxers book showing the AZ development. But if that is a serious concern, having worked for a pharmaceutical company for a year, I suggest you look at the history of all drugs and hope you never need medication or surgical treatment ever. I assume you would sooner die!
I have no issue with people refusing the jab. Their right. But I have a right to be protected from those who haven’t. If that means people who refuse are barred from certain jobs, restaurants, sporting facilities, holidays then so be it. Having rights applies to everybody. I don’t want to sit next to someone who may kill me! Being double jabbed is not 100%. That is my right!

Firstly, I'm not a 'conspiracy loon' as you put it. Secondly, on the flip side what would be the loss of income to Orient if these measures were brought in?Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 2:01 pm Adeed benefit of vaccine passports will be football without the conspiracy loons

I would imagine very little as fans that were fully jabbed would be encouraged in the knowledge that there was no chance of mixing inside Brisbane Road with those that haven’t been vaccinated .The club might even get record crowds as a result.LeytonstoneRed07 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 4:24 pmFirstly, I'm not a 'conspiracy loon' as you put it. Today there are 5001 people in hospital with COVID 19.
On this day last year there were 1538.
Today there were 84 deaths and a seven day average of 55.
On this day last year there were 53 deaths with a seven day average of 62.
All this is on the above Government link under Patients in Hospital with COVID 19, under the Data section.
Can anybody seriously have any faith in a rushed vaccine based on the above figures.

You might want to get a grown up help you with the dates as you are clearly too stupid to understand the figures.
5001 is greater than 1538.

And do you know that hospital admissions with COVID are up by 26% in a week?
All this with 70% of people vaccinated.
Doesn’t seem to be working.

They are pushing it again now because they can take some comfort from the vaccination programme. There has to be a vaccine before herd immunity is viable.
The gamble is twofold: Will more deadly variants develop from mass infection? Politically how many deaths can the public turn a blind Covid eye to?
