Have to admit I didn't take much notice of all the coming and goings of the subs, did Cissé play at all today?

Well would seem that the previous manager did not think he was being played out of position when playing out wide !Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:42 pmI don't understand your point? It's funny what happens when you don't stick him out wide

I don't think that was the case at all, just that the head coach shoe horned him into that position.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 6:19 pmWell would seem that the previous manager did not think he was being played out of position when playing out wide !Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:42 pmI don't understand your point? Harry Smith will help maybePoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 4:59 pm Excellent goal for us, side looks promising but clearly still needs a quality striker to score the goals.
And Drinan won’t be playing against Eric Dier each week

Pratley is first choice, Cisse is cover for him. Hell only feature when he has to.

I think that Pratley is an upgrade on Cisse, and I thought Hector looked good at times today.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:21 pm Pratley is first choice, Cisse is cover for him. Hell only feature when he has to.
I guess these three will contest the holding roles in midfield.

Was that NT or Notts Co who had been sooooo bad the previous year that they weren’t given a summer break and were super fit and match ready? They won games but sheer pressure and fitness and were promoted by about Easter??Anthem of Hope wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 3:17 am
… and that discipline reminded me of watching Northampton some years ago live at Lofc when they got promoted that year they did exactly the same

There’s only one holding CM and that’s Pratley, with Hector and Kemp ahead of him. We need more options in those more forward positions, though.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:42 pmI think that Pratley is an upgrade on Cisse, and I thought Hector looked good at times today.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:21 pm Pratley is first choice, Cisse is cover for him. The Chielinniesque pull back on Kemp or Smyth was the worst, followed by the Ali trip but yeah, they were up to a few tricks.Anthem of Hope wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 8:21 amOne time D Ali was beaten on the floor and he pocked his right leg out and tripped the Lofc player and we even saw a close up in a reply of the shirt pulling the Lofc player indicated in arm movements his gesture of frustration - there were quite a lot of other instancesSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 8:01 amDARK ARTS!Anthem of Hope wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 3:17 am Great goals by both teams but I did notice Spurs when under pressure in midfield did plenty of " professional " fouls and shirt pulling to stop orient flowing forwarded - given the type of players Spurs have in their squad I was rather surprised to watch that
Nothing as bad as the fouls by Pratley or Ruel 30 seconds after coming on, mind you.

Pratley would probably have seen Red in a L2 game for that tackle.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 8:41 amThe Chielinniesque pull back on Kemp or Smyth was the worst, followed by the Ali trip but yeah, they were up to a few tricks.Anthem of Hope wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 8:21 amOne time D Ali was beaten on the floor and he pocked his right leg out and tripped the Lofc player and we even saw a close up in a reply of the shirt pulling the Lofc player indicated in arm movements his gesture of frustration - there were quite a lot of other instances

Re: Exiles thread - Tottenham
Didn't make the match or the stream , people tell me Spurs fielded a completely different side in the second half and this allowed us to get competitive , are we looking good for the new season or do we need 2 or 3 more players as suggested ?.
Re: Exiles thread - Tottenham
At the mid-way drinks break in the second half a whole new team came on (perhaps with the exception of the goalkeeper). I assume it was most of their youth team.
It was an enjoyable game and good to see the O's with some attacking intent and not so much passing around at the back, even a few long balls to run on to. Pratley looks a very good leader on the pitch.

Overall it was a good performance Ron and we deserved a draw. Ruel scored a great goal albeit against their youngsters but I would be optimistic once we’ve completed the squad.
On a more serious note, hope your wife is ok after losing her rings

Interesting to see 'some' of the Spurs fans' reactions to the match.
One saying 'watching Winks and Deli struggle against a pub team is embarrassing' and another calling Ruel's goal a 'worldy' and a third saying '23 years...zero trophies'...
...but they've started on a high 'sharing' the JE3 Trophy with us. Not happy bunnies, but there's no pleasing some people ; )
