Re: Exiles thread - Tottenham
Ok it's pre-season and all but that squad doesn't seem to have any creativity or drive in it apart from Smyth who looks decent.
Disturbing our weakest areas from last season CM and RB haven't seen any strengthening at all yet. Whoever comes in (surely some must be?) will need to settle very quickly.

Ditto, so far. But the last 3-4 passes and finish was way above L2 standard.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:49 pmSeen some hopeful signs from the new Os players plus the youngsters.

Smyth looks half decent finding space behind the forward. Pratley would have seen red had this been a league game

Pratley is a CM and having an old boot play RB would be an upgradegshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:50 pm Ok it's pre-season and all but that squad doesn't seem to have any creativity or drive in it apart from Smyth who looks decent.

We need more than one CM coming in given how weak the others alongside him areApple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:54 pmPratley is a CM and having an old boot play RB would be an upgradegshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:50 pm Ok it's pre-season and all but that squad doesn't seem to have any creativity or drive in it apart from Smyth who looks decent.

I agree that we need someone with some creativity and nous. Do rate Hector in there thoughgshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 4:02 pmWe need more than one CM coming in given how weak the others alongside him areApple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:54 pmPratley is a CM and having an old boot play RB would be an upgradegshaw wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:50 pm Ok it's pre-season and all but that squad doesn't seem to have any creativity or drive in it apart from Smyth who looks decent.

Re: Exiles thread - Tottenham
I notice the new Spurs manager is still plagiarising my surname on his kit. I knew I should have tried to make a trademark of it years ago when I found out there was a ship, a cafe in Hornchurch and (a colleague told me) a Chinese lager all named NES

Even if we are sharing it with Spurs, we can say we've got one trophy in the cabinet already this season.

Excellent goal for us, side looks promising but clearly still needs a quality striker to score the goals.

Re: Exiles thread - Tottenham
As a supporter of both teams (I know - get over it) I have to say the O's were more impressive today. There are a couple of reasons for this, one is that they are further ahead in their preparation and also that this is probably close to the team which will start the season, whereas Spurs only had two or three players that will start their first match. I thought the O's played pretty well, and i feel very positive about this coming campaign.

Show what being patient with development and the benefit of a loan spell can bring about.

In other words, last season he was played out of position on the left wing, something noted by many on this forum at the time it was happening !Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:28 pmIt's funny what happens when you don't stick him out wide

I don't understand your point? I can't think of anyone who didnt think he was playing out wide.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:41 pmIn other words, last season he was played out of position on the left wing, something noted by many on this forum at the time it was happening !Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 5:28 pmIt's funny what happens when you don't stick him out wide
