Yes, well not exactly, we got compensation so long as we also offer a contract
Sadly it's usually only a nominal fee at this level

This week Alan Campbell of Motherwell, also an Academy graduate, left to join Luton Town.Bergen wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 12:05 pmThanks. That`s what I thought.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 12:02 pmYes, well not exactly, we got compensation so long as we also offer a contract

Apparently Motherwell have reduced the compensation fee in exchange for a percentage of any sell on fee. Looks like there's some flexibility in agreeing the level of compensation.

I wouldn't really miss him either , vastly overrated in my opinion .Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 12:07 pm Can I be honest?

Re: Dan Happe
Stupid statement.
Happe has played below the standard expected of him last season. He's not a kid anymore - there are 8 players in the England squad younger than him - and he needs to be a bit more responsible for his actions. Judging by the new signings, his best hopes of playing consistently are to start playing up to the level expected of him; injury or 3 centre backs.

Re: Dan Happe
Maintained throughout that Happe was a decent prospect but that I couldn’t see him playing above league one. Championship at a push but the premier league talk was alway rubbish. People were easily led by his good form when he came into the squad.
That said, he still has time to reach his potential and I’d be Happe if we re signed him.

Yeah and coaches.Ronnie Hotdogs wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 1:12 pmIn what way?
The manager debacle these past 2 years?
Under Justin, he was looking really promising and had Coulson next to him to offer experience and learning. It isn’t just him, a few talented players have stalled over the last 18 months.

Re: Dan Happe
He isn’t an experienced player in his prime either. He’s still progressing and learning. Those 8 players have been playing at a high level and brought through slowly by their clubs. Some have gone on loan. He was forced into being the main man and leading a defence consisting of Sam Ling, Akinola and James Brophy.LittleMate wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 12:34 pmStupid statement.

Everyone played below the standard required because the club didn’t have a good coaching setup.

Re: Dan Happe
Happe lacks pace and often gets caught on the wrong side of attackers thus giving pens away, he needs to improve on his positional side of the game, something that Embleton should have worked on,however it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he was to go and the club got a fee for him IMO

Were they crossfield? I thought they fell more into the category of upfield punts.

Glad he’s no longer one of our top two CBs. Do wonder if Jackett is going to switch to a back three, mind.

For a start nobody knows how and even if Thompson is going to recover from very serious injuries, so how can you say he's better than Happe?
Thompson may not be fit for the start of the season, and Happe will play. If he does well, he'll keep the shirt.
Don't give your opinion and tell me it's fact. It isn't.

Re: Dan Happe
Of course he's still learning - but last year he went backwards and has now clocked up over pro 100 games. Some players never make it to that number. He could do with premier league coaching but he's not premier league standard. Its easy to blame the setup but given the number of games played and the mistakes made, he needs to look at himself more.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 1:57 pmHe isn’t an experienced player in his prime either.
