Gutted. He was my favourite player. Hopefully he’ll get his career back on track playing in his best position

Bugger. He would always brighten up a Saturday afternoon. Genuine ball player. Back to the hoof, then.

I once had high hopes for Joey Baker when he left us. Sunk without trace.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:46 pm Gutted. He was my favourite player. Hopefully he’ll get his career back on track playing in his best position

Re: Brophy gone to Cambridge
Massive disappointment.
Can’t blame him for wanting to try his luck at L1 again. Hopefully there’s no more to it than that.

Not good enough for L1.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:45 pmDisagree. A very limited player. There's better out there.
Flattered to deceive in L2.
a 2 goal a season winger: he was no Dean Cox
..shouldn't be too hard to replace..

Cox was a L1/Championship player, limited only because of his pace.Scuba Diver wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 3:10 pmNot good enough for L1.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:45 pmDisagree. A very limited player. There's better out there.

Brophy is a L2/L1 player, again only because of his pace.
He’ll be tricky to replace, at a time we’ve already got loads of other players to replace.

Re: Brophy gone to Cambridge
League one standard left back. League two standard winger. A pound of Bera’s money says he starts at fullback for Cambridge…. Make it 50p.

Re: Brophy gone to Cambridge
Is a very good league 2 player when used properly and is a bit of a dying breed - a genuine out and out winger who doesn't rely upon cutting in to beat his man or get a cross in. Particularly suited to a 4-4-2 left midfielder role.
Big loss, even if he's probably not quite good enough for league 1.

He’s a modern day wing back.

Re: Brophy gone to Cambridge
Think he can do both. Isn't a left back though. He needs to work on his end product but players who can beat their man regularly are always a pleasure to watch.

“I also wanted to explain the decision which has led me to take an opportunity elsewhere, which is me looking at what I want to achieve from my career; which is to play as high as I can to ultimately challenge myself"
Fair enough really.

I agree Max but it’s getting them to sign for us , that’s the problem. Good players will always be in demand by everybodyMax B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 2:45 pmDisagree. A very limited player. There's better out there.
