Post by marcho »

I just added up the figures given for each stand which equate to 9059.
Does anybody know if this includes the away support ?

I've always thought that this is a huge factor in the future development of the Orient. Should we go up another division & then press for promotion; those flats would be a hinderance in any development of Brisbane Rd. It would be necessary to relocate. Where to? Inner London is mega expensive. Anyone fancy Basildon Orient?

Ground share with MK Dons.
Premiership ground.
A population which is going to double in the next 20 years.
Can’t understand why none of these American investors can see this.

That's why Hearne wanted to share with Westham but Karen Brady stopped that. But it might have felt like we were Queens Park.

Brentford were able to find land in a more expensive part of London for a new ground. Granted, they're owner by a boyhood fan with deep pockets and so wasn't as interested in direct return as the long term interests of the club, but we could find a site needs be, particularly if tied in to (another) property deal.

They also owned Griffin Park and sold it for 30 million.

Mistadobalina:- Brentford is a lot further away from the City than Leyton. For some strange reason, well heeled people are moving in.

Building in Hackney Marshes somehow seems very apt.

When Orient are pushing for the Premier League in 4 years they should bid for Romford Dog track, demolish it and build a new ground.

Like Wimbledon did

I wasn't really implying the premier league, if the club managed to rise through the leagues say to the championship we would obviously struggle with crowd capacity.

Why "obviously"? Are we likely to ever have 8,000-odd people (excluding away fans) wanting to come regularly to games? Even if we did, wouldn't it be a good thing atmosphere-wise for Brisbane Road to be packed full more than the handful of times it's ever been?

Hackney Marshes just off the road aptly named Orient Way would seem like a fantastic idea

And how are we going to compete financially with clubs two or Three times the size?
Look at Wycombe for the answer.
