Re: Craig Clay
I thought he was only offered a year? If we get promoted with Craig Clay starting in the centre of midfield I will eat my sandals.

Re: Craig Clay
Craig Clay on signing his new two year contract.
" I snapped their hand off when they offered it to me"
I bet he did.

Re: Craig Clay
I don’t want to sound like a hater but he was bloody awful last season. Completely out of his depth especially against the better sides. Gives the ball away constantly, not dominant in the air, lightweight in the tackle doesn’t score any goals. Just runs around a lot and points, points and points some more. Someone must see something in him but to give him a 2 year contract means that someone in the club thinks he could even play in league one (assuming the club want promotion this year). That person is totally deluded.

Re: Craig Clay
Last season he gave the ball away far too much so he' got to improve that side of his game. I'm hopeful Kenny Jackett can get more out of him and Cisse come to think about it . Both have to pull their socks up . I'd expect Kenny to bring in another one or two new midfielders anyway so they might not be first choice.

Re: Craig Clay
If he’s in as a squad player, to give a bit of continuity as we enter a period of flux, I can live with this.
Bonkers to think he’ll end up doing 6 years with us, mind you.

Re: Craig Clay
That’s the problem, he is our playmaker but he isn’t a playmaker. Let him run around all day, make space for people and give the ball to players who can unlock defences. He’s always covering for his partner, dropping in at left back and having to get forward, no wonder his form dropped.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 12:43 pmHe's just got to try and improve his passing ability then he should be OK.

Re: Craig Clay
I'd like to think he won't be our playmaker in the future . OK for back up but hopefully we'll be getting one or two new play makers shortly .BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 1:22 pmThat’s the problem, he is our playmaker but he isn’t a playmaker. That, and his glaring lack of technical ability and positional sense.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 1:22 pmThat’s the problem, he is our playmaker but he isn’t a playmaker. Re: Craig Clay
That truly is crazy. The way he played from Christmas onwards did not deserve even a 1year contract. Not one of my favourite players. I hope Kenny see him as a bit player and not the driving midfielder that is needed. Could see Orient buying out his contract within a year
