Re: Eurovision
Some decent entries this year, Malta will win but I liked Italy.

Re: Eurovision
I was saying to my wife we'll be lucky to win as many as 20 points . That show has now lost all its fun. In fact I find it quite boring now.

Re: Eurovision
Oh dear United Kingdom ends up with zero points ! Only 524 points behind the winners Italy. Felt sorry for our guy but the song was so bland and non discript. Looked like he was completely pissed by the end of the show.

Re: Eurovision
If we still have to play in this stupid competition then we should just send a someone playing the triangle.
Also keep the vaccine and let Europe struggle a bit longer.

Re: Eurovision
Can't win the match so we'll sulk, take the ball and scarper?
As for the vaccine: Europe is doing o.k. and unlike the Brits. the EU is supplying vaccines to non EU countries who desperately need them.
No petty small mindedness there.

Re: Eurovision
Never said quit did I? Why make an effort when it is obviously not appreciated or wanted. Waste of time and money, if we have to participate then put in minimum.
Ooo Europe are so helpful.

Re: Eurovision
We didn't make an effort though, did we? The song was horribly bland and forgetable, sung out of tune, and James Newman was out of breath after 30 seconds.

Re: Eurovision
What are you talking about. We’ve been coming virtually last in that show for years now. Anyway it goes to prove my point that the show is very political now and has become very boring. I knew weeks ago we were going to get no points and that’s why I said to my wife we will be lucky to get 20 points. It’s so predictable now and that’s why I find it boringMillennial Snowflake wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 11:59 pm It’s stuff like this that makes you proud that we voted for Brexit

Re: Eurovision
And here’s me thinking it was a private company supplying the vaccine. Incidentally it’s not our ball we’ve taken away but our money and that’s what hurts them. Whatever we got from the EU we paid for through the nose

Re: Eurovision
Just to add I’ll always remember the night two young Russian girls got slaughtered from the crowd as soon as they walked out on stage. For me that was the night Eurovision died.

Re: Eurovision
Personally I think Eurovision is more relevant than ever.
In this country we are constantly served up rehashed songs on programmes like The Voice and X Factor, where there are no new songs and bands seem to be not compatible with the format.
Eurovision is not great but still it had a couple of half decent bands and entirely new songs.

Re: Eurovision
I cant see the point of the whole thing. Poor songs, cheesy as can be, artists you've never heard of and never will again, and political as its possible to be.
I mean who didnt know Greece would give Cyprus 12 points and vice-versa, whatever the songs were.

Re: Eurovision
It's good harmless fun. And there's a growing sense of civic pride in nil-point Royaume-Uni. If we're going to be sh*t, then let's be really sh*t

Re: Eurovision
I reckon the split amongst the population that don't get Eurovision and those who are able to enjoy it for what it is will be about 52%/48%.

Re: Eurovision
It would be interesting to know what the viewing figures were for the UK . I bet more people tuned into the football
Re: Eurovision
I’d like to think that this was said in a sarcastic tone because to suggested that you hope innocent people suffer unnecessarily during a global pandemic (which is what I assume the intended outcome of “keep the vaccine” is) really is something only the lowest scumbag would say.
