Calderwood is at Blackpool as ast mgr. If him maybe sorting out compo. (just a theory- i have no idea who it will be)
He might not even be interested.
But he is the best qualified candidate on the list.
He seems to be a very good coach and this is what the owners prefer.
They shouldn’t give a toss what fans think, they will turn up anyway.
Besides, 3 straight wins and everyone is happy.

Who do you support btw is it MK Dons still? Certainly not an O’s fan.
Nope , Os fan for 45 years.
But I live in the real world.
We are at best a L1 club who will lose a million + every year and will never have more than a 6000 subsidised gate.
Any talk of of the club being anything more than a money pit is nonsense.
That’s where I differ from a lot on this board.
I still think we will eventually get back to L1, but that will be the limit.
We will never be an established Championship club again. The game has moved on.
While I understand your point we still have to try and aspire for greatness otherwise what's the point .
From a not reliable source:
6 considered (Jackett, Calderwood, Ardley, Wellens, someone else I cant remember (probably Tisdale) and Cooper’s agent forced him to put in!)
Jackett, Calderwood, Ardley and Wellens interviewed but only Jackett had a second interview but has turned it down.
As I say not sure of the source’s reliablity so maybe just taken from the betting list and is pure speculation

The finance of the club will determine our position.
Unless we get Brentford or Bournemouth type investment the limit is L1.

FFS wish they would just announce it
I would take Calderwood over any of the above, excluding Jackett.
Has Martin Ling given up his backroom power base yet? Doesn’t matter who gets appointed whilst the too-cosy set-up remains pulling strings in the shadows...

I lived near Brentford FC for a number of years. Long time fans said the same that they'd never be more than a league 1 club at best.

Well you better find someone who is prepared to stump up over 200 million.
That’s what the Brentford owner has put in.
They also owned Griffin Park.
I am quite happy with the delay if the owners have learnt from their past mistakes and bring in a proven, experienced Manager at this level or above. My definition of proven is that they have got a club promoted from this level or above.
Bearing in mind the above what will not be acceptable is any of Lings old mates getting the job or going for the cheapest option or any pre set criteria that puts off applicants.

Calderwood ticks all the boxes.
2 promotions and a win rate of 1.46%.
Vast experience as a coach.

Looking at this years table we would need a Manager with a win rate of 1.58 % (73 divided by 46) to just squeeze into the play offs and a win rate of 1.71% (79 divided 46) to get automatic promotion.

Don’t be daft.
I am looking at the total of a managers career.
Anybody with a consistent figure of over 1.5 will not be coming to us.
Strategy going forward - let it drift on for 2 weeks - everyone then just grateful to ‘get it done’ - even Calderwood haters are worn down and approve (it worked for the Tories).
I say scrap the process and beg Jobi to come back.

I would as well.
Jobi and Slade.
So to be clear, you’re predicting it’ll be Slade, and predicting it’ll be Calderwood, and predicting it’ll be a “Fletcher Mark 2”?

I am not predicting anything “Wally”
My choice would be Jobi with Slade as mentor.
Failing that, Calderwood.
I think the owners have got to show the fans a bit of backbone.
The owners pay the bills not the fans.
They shouldn’t take any notice of someone who pays £300 Pa.
Peanuts.
