Looking forward to you providing the facts to why there was a rise in Redbridge
I’m more looking forward to you proving that I am wrong.
Ahhh, so you haven't got any? It's just baseless claims? coolcoolcool.

Must say, that IS a surprise.
You disbelieve me but you can’t prove me wrong. coolcoolcool.

Ask Hotdogs. He gets it.
It’s the 10,000 brown foreigns turning up on our shores every day what caused the Kent variant, is what I think he’s suggesting.
Trouble is the Science doesnt agree if you read it fully,
There is no mention of Brown Foreigns

There’s no mention of anyone. Just says first case was found in Kent.

“ Within the UK, it is commonly referred to as the Kent variant after Kent, where the variant was found.”

Its all in the link
You just need to read it all including the dropdown sections.

* * * *

The first case was likely in mid-September 2020 in London or Kent, United Kingdom.[85] As of 13 December 2020, 1,108 cases with this variant had been identified in the UK in nearly 60 different local authorities. These cases were predominantly in the south east of England. The variant has also been identified in Wales and Scotland.[86] By November, around a quarter of cases in the COVID-19 pandemic in London were being caused by the new variant, and by December, that was a third.[87] In mid-December, it was estimated that almost 60 percent of cases in London involved B.1.1.7.[88] By 25 January 2021, the number of confirmed and probable UK cases had grown to 28,122.[89]

As of March 16, it had become the dominant COVID-19 variant for 21 countries: United Kingdom (week 52), Ireland (week 2), Bulgaria (week 4), Slovakia (week 5), Israel (week 5), Luxembourg (week 5), Portugal (week 6), Denmark (week 7), Netherlands (week 7), Norway (week 7), Italy (week 7), Belgium (week 7), France (week 8), Austria (week 8), Switzerland (week 8), Liechtenstein (week 9), Germany (week 9), Sweden (week 9), Spain (week 9), Malta (week 10) and Poland (week 11). The emergence and the fast spreading of the new variant has been detected in Lebanon and a relationship noted between SARS-CoV-2 transmission intensity and the frequency of the new variant during the first twelve days of January.[83]

Since February, B.1.1.7 has become the dominant variant in Lebanon.[84
As of February 2021, none of the countries from South America, Central America, Africa, Middle East (except Israel), Asia and Oceania had reported data for the detected share of the B.1.1.7 variant among their COVID-19 positives; rendering it unknown whether or not B.1.1.7 could be dominant for their COVID-19 pandemic .

So it started in London & swept through traditionally white Europe .

As it states

From February 2021 B117 ( kent variant ) has NOT been found in south or central america
Africa the Middle East ( except Israel ) . There is no Evidence to show whether Asia or Oveania
That B117 is the dominant Variant there.

So to conclude
B117 seemed to effect traditionally countries with a high caucasian european populus .

Hope that dispels the Brown Foreigns theory for you .

The link you provided said that the Kent virus was found in Kent, hence the name. I stated that Kent is our county closest to France which funnily enough is where most of the illegal dinghies land. You and Hotdogs made the link to brown foreigns.

Maybe it was your reference to " ASK HOTDOGS "
Who then mentioned " Brown Foreigns is what i think he ( you) is talking about .
You made NO OBJECTION to this , so we can take it ,
that it was indeed brown foreigns you were referring to ..

The link stated it wasnt known if it was found in London or Kent .
Only that the variant was not reducing in Kent at the same rate as the previous
Virus was in the uk under lockdown rules .
Nothing to do with where it was found !

Dont bother Tuffs. He's scared of the dinghies and the browns. You can't teach those sorts of people anything, they just dig in without having the bollocks to commit and back up their beliefs. Pointless.

Doubt there's a single issue in this country that orny can't pin on foreigners. Have to give him credit for just about walking the fine line between implied and explicit prejudice though.

Not at all
It quite specifically states they can not be certain that the mutation 1st happened in London or Kent .
It became prevelent in Kent & therefore the 1st place it was noticed .

Think of the Spanish Flu .
Which was in fact the American Flu .
It just got noticed when American soldiers were in Europe
at the end of the world war after they travelled here with it.

Neutral Spain had no reporting restrictions unlike the
U.S Britain & Germany amongst others & was the 1st country to report about it .

21st June in doubt due to Indian variant

I can predict that one side will be mad

Can any pro-lockdown, anti-government correspondents let me know what the stock response is gonna be?

Imagine it'll be tacit support while criticising not being tougher on immigration from brown countries

Can't believe that given the concern with the latest variant, that the next stage of opening up on Monday is still going ahead.
As soon as we were aware of this variant, all people coming from India, should have been halted.
Once again the government has handled the situation poorly

Agree with that. We’ve come this far and the PM says this variant is probably more infectious whilst allowing millions of people to be inside with each other from Monday.

I’m sick of lockdown but another 2 weeks of sitting in pub gardens won’t kill us. Will understandably upset a few businesses but in the long run, opening up could lead to vast problems down the line.
