Morecambe's fourth place is their joint-highest pyramid finish and they will face Tranmere Rovers in the play-offs.
It marks a turnaround for the club having finished in the bottom seven of the table for the past five seasons, and comes 11 years after their only previous appearance in the League Two play-offs.
"To finish with 23 wins out of 46 games, and to finish fourth in the league, is a fantastic season," boss Derek Adams told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We've come up against teams in this division that are bigger and have spent more money than us, but it's not all about that.
"It's about a wee bit of spirit, a wee bit of ability, a good bit of organisation and an ability to score goals and not concede, and we've done that throughout the season."

Not a good fit for us.
Can’t see him sitting and listening to a load of bollocks spoken by the transfer committee.
That will probably rule out any decent manager who has a backbone.

Time will tell, but we need a strong and experienced manager next time around with the ability to inspire the players to play to the best of their ability. Also a manager who can vary his ways of setting up the team so that we have a few different plans to encounter the different types of formations and players who we will be playing against.

BTTT. I think if we had appointed Adams we would have reached the play-offs. Certainly mistakes were made but it’s in the past now . It’s what we do now and going forward that counts

Yes, there's no doubt about it Derek Adams has done well at Morecambe . With any luck at Wembley he'll take them up to League One but what's done is done. With the appointment of Kenny Jackett I just prefer to look forward to the new season .
