I'm more relaxed about them not turning up if the price goes up. Price inelasticity is at play here. They will pay up because they have nowhere else to go.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 1:24 pmIf clubs like Orient and others didn’t offer OAP’s and Kids discounted tickets then I reckon attendances would fall like a stone.
I would guess that our fan base is around 40-50% over 65, many wouldn’t bother if they had to pay full whack.
Just my opinion of course, but interesting to hear what others feel.

No one has got close to the real answer to the question. When you have been supporting Orient for 50+ years, no way are you going to pay the full price for the pile of poo poo we see week in, week out. You young upstarts will realize what I mean in due course

1. Plenty of OAP's in and around Leyton are not wealthy and might need assistance.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 1:24 pmIf clubs like Orient and others didn’t offer OAP’s and Kids discounted tickets then I reckon attendances would fall like a stone.

2. Most OAP's have done a lifetime of service at the O's. They merit a discount based on their loyalty.
Take your pick!

Getting kids in at a young age is obviously the only way the club has a future. Of course their tickets should be discounted, massively.

I'm all for putting them all in one stand together. They can all then just generate a constant low level noise by tutting and grumbling interspersed with anecdotes about Arthur Banner or Norman Deeley.
Perhaps attract suitable sponsorship - the Co-Op Funeral Stand has a ring. Even better - the Away End, sponsored by Dignitas.

I'm all for it as long as they put more sit-down loos in for that stand. And reduce the food/drink prices in line with old 'uns status. Plus the banter would be more knowledgeable than most of the bolleaux the younger fans spew. The swearing might be a problem though. As I fit into the old category I fully agree with your statement. Jus like to say that I have spent many thousands of pounds over the years supporting the Os. People can moan when they have spent as much as I have .ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 12:14 pm Older people have given a lifetime of service to the community, and this is their reward for doing so.

One other point to consider if they stop the OAP concession.
They will have to raise the rent on their pension providing property so the young would then be paying for it albeit indirectly.

Concession rate also applies to Young Adults (18-24), Emergency Services, Armed Forces, NHS Staff, Waltham Forest Council Employees, second parents, students and the unemployed.
Which seems to cover a lot of people. Not sure why Waltham Forest Council Employees are on the list. Least deserving of a discount of all. Also if you are unemployed and find a job during the season what happens then?

Re: Why do OAP's get discounted Season Tickets?
I often wonder if anyone pays full price. I have paid full whack for one season ticket, but kids ticket I get with it is peanuts and we get another 8 freebies to give away. Also used to get complimentary tickets in the Beelzebub days.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 6:09 pm Its about time these ludicrous discounts were challenged.
