Re: Russell Slade Managerial Consultant.
So you believe give any Tom willy or Harry a budget and they will win promotion. Really. Honestly. How long have you been following football. Money guarantees success.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 2:30 pmLing us promoted with a top three budget, something Slade never had. Then Ling got sacked when he couldn’t hack it the following season.Dohnut wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 1:40 pmNo, all Ling managed was to get us promoted. Please also provide evidence Ling had a top 3 budget. And evidence that it was any better than Slades. No hearsay just the number, ours compared to others at the time. Thanks.

Re: Russell Slade Managerial Consultant.
Time to get Russell in as consultant mentoring Jobi.
I would bring in Cox as well and ditch some of the backroom staff.
This will be the dream team and give the club a massive shot in the arm.

Re: Russell Slade Managerial Consultant.
Come on Kent, you know this makes sense.
Bring Cox in as well to work with Jobi and this will be a win win.
Deano is such a infectious character he will lift everybody.
Russell with 800 games under his belt will be a great mentor, and yes he can work with Ling.
They can use their combined experience and contacts for the good of the club.

Re: Russell Slade Managerial Consultant.
Still Wrong = Serial stirrer. I don't know why people entertain this idiot tbh.
Slade left Stevenage last season after a short spell helping Revell - but for Macclesfields frequent indescretions Stevenage would have fallen out of the league - so hardly a success. Revell has done far better since he left.
Slade said in the recent Lo-down podcast he would like to come and watch a game next season and have a beer with the fans it would be nice to see him again "thanks for the memories and all that " but if anyone thinks T&T are going to side line Ling in favour of Slade then think again. putting sentiment aside is hiring someone as a "consultant" who has been sacked from 5 managerial positions in four years a step forward?
Slade is currently heading up a company that is preparing a law suit on behalf of 400 + pro's regarding their data rights, I dont think he has plans to go back into football management I think his company is giving him more than enough to do.

Slade has already stated he will never say no, besides he will be a consultant not manager.
You obviously don’t know the difference.
Cardiff actually offered him the same position in 2015.
He was sacked from Coventry and Charlton, both basketcase clubs. The others were not far behind.

A cold hard look at the facts shows he has been sacked at Cardiff, Charlton, Coventry, Grimsby and Hereford United since leaving the O's let go by Stevenage from the same role you propose not to mention fired by Yeovil and Brighton it's not great on his CV is it. he's never won a promotion as a manager at any club but lets have him back because he's a lovely fella.....nah he's got other things to do and we should'nt go backwards.

Complex suggestion - we have a DOF that could be a mentor
The wage bill is bursting why increase the non playing overheads further - however I was impressed with his recent interview

Something Ling could never manage.
And he resigned at Cardiff and left Coventry after taking them to the JPT trophy final.

I am not suggesting that role , I am suggesting using his 800 game experience to help a capable but rookie manager.

Ling took us up. I think that trumps play off finals.
