I'd never heard of Wikispooks before.

Took me about 3 minutes to work out it's a wet dream for conspiracy theorists.
It was reported as far back as 2005 .

Must be going blind. Can't see a reference to being a CIA operative there.

“Official records show that Ruth Smeeth was funded by two ultra-wealthy figures from the same pro-Israel organisation she once worked for. But these relationships have been overlooked by the British press, which have extensively reported on her allegations of anti-Semitic abuse at the hands of Jeremy Corbyn supporters.”

“What is generally not known is that Ruth Smeeth was identified by WikiLeaks, via a US embassy diplomatic cable, as a “strictly protect” – US informant.”

Oh you guys really need to use the internet - it was quite easy to find what you were looking for
https://wikileaks.org/plusd/cables/09LONDON956_a.html

Here's the part you're referring to

Perhaps most damaging of all, however, Smeargate effectively ended what may have been Brown's plan to call a general election this spring, based on the rise in the polls he received following his solid performance at the G-20.
Labour Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Burton Ruth Smeeth (strictly protect) told us April 20 that Brown had intended to announce the elections on May 12, and hold them after a very short (matter of weeks) campaign season. Labour had been "just" 7 points behind the Conservatives in some polls taken right after the G-20 Summit, which other Labour contacts had told us was close to an acceptable standing from which to launch a campaign, but the drop in Labour's poll numbers following Smeargate forced Brown to abandon his plan, a despondent Smeeth said. (Note: This information has not been reported in the press. End note.)

So she basically told someone that Brown planned an election but then cancelled it. And from this you deduced hat she's a CIA asset. Seems a bit of a leap.

I did see that myself. The person that she told that was Hillary Clinton, who was Secretary of State at the time, in Obama's government.
From that it isn't hard to deduce she was working, as a spy, for the USA

Do you think the words "strictly protect" have any significance?

Why is she passing confidential information to the US at all?

I don't believe you can deduce from that she is a spy. There is a big difference between a spy and an asset.

She’s only passing info to the US, she’s not spying as such.

Whether she's a spy or an asset doesn't really matter, there's not a lot of difference at the end of the day, the fact is, she was passing on government information to a foreign power ( albeit an ally).
Why didn't Clinton just ring up Brown and ask him? Probably because she didn't want him to know, she was interested, so she asked Smeeth to get the info behind Browns back and pass it on.
Smeeth wasnt even an MP at the time
IMO shes a dangerous woman, not to be trusted at all

Agent COB was not on the books of the Czechs even the accomplished liar and hard right propogandist Tom Bower says as much in his hatchet job excuse for a book on Jez.

Irrelevant question.

We have proof of her passing on the info as it's in the strictly protect US embassy communication. It doesn't matter if it was passed directly to Clinton or not.
