So Alex "Sweaty Octopus (Alleged)" is going it alone with a new political party. Isn't this all a bit Nigel Farage? Is it likely to peel support away from the SNP? I have little understanding of politics up there but surely this is all a bit Judean People's front when it comes to Scottish Independence?

I'm only basing this on a small sample of a few people but, my feeling, is that most now react to Alex Salmond by rolling their eyes and tutting. He has a massive ego but few others even care any longer. Give it a rest, Eck.

Alex and his Octopii friends believe that Nicky and her feminist crew are to caught up in identity politics and no longer prioritise Independence. They prefer to tinker around the edges of politics trying to get us to drink less and are now the "establishment" enjoying the nest they have feathered for themselves.Admin wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 2:21 pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-56539696

It will split the Nat vote but possibly in a positive way. The SNP knock the constituency seats out of the park but because of the way these votes are counted for the list seats they end up with fewer seats. So vote SNP in the constituency vote and Alba in the list vote. Hey presto a two party state!!
For the avoidance of doubt I will never and have never voted for the SNP. But I probably don't hate them quite as much as Spike does.

Re: FAO Scottish Members
I hate the SNP less than I hate the Tories so will vote SNP again as part of an ongoing campaign to be rid of the Tories for good. Once that is done I'll be in touch with you, Max, to discuss the best way forward for creating a proper democratic socialist state that even Spike will like .Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 3:05 pmAlex and his Octopii friends believe that Nicky and her feminist crew are to caught up in identity politics and no longer prioritise Independence. I sense the conversation may take place on a train on the way back from an O's game in a Northern English city/town where we are leathered after starting drinking Sloe Gin at 10.30am. It should be a sensible discourse.

Yes. A Goodmans car radio with tape player & digital FM was stolen from my Blue Cortina 1.6L in 1990.Omygawd wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 4:59 pmDid you want to confess anything to the People’s Court?Admin wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 4:19 pmAnd all were sh*t. Rather stupidly, I replaced it with the same model which was consequently lifted by some light fingered git 2 weeks later.

Loved my Mark 1. Did they leave your dice when they nicked your Goodman? I genuinely had a his and hers sun strip nicked from my Mark 1 at the same time as factory fitted radio went awol, the relationship didn’t survive.

And no one hates the snp as much as I do. This new development will be interesting, I shall try to gauge the feeling among my more rabid Nat pals.

Don't be silly. There's an election anyway in just over 5 weeks. No point in having a by election now even if there was enough time to organise it. The electorate will have their say soon enough.Currywurst and Chips wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 1:44 pm First MP (East Lothian) defects to Alba
