Didn’t say he wasn’t Biggsy but here’s a thought. Isn’t he one of the first to sign and Jobi has made him captain. Could Ling have actually discussed this with Jobi and if so could this be an indication that Jobi has got the job for next season??? However I could be wrong

Re: 2 year extension - Craig Clay
I'd give him another year. JM obviously rates him to give him the captaincy. And as for the comments that he just "runs around aimlessly" - look at other teams, they always have one or two in midfield who do the same and it breaks up our attempts at attacking. That's what he does, breaks up the opposition set-up and attacks, not all but a heck of a lot. I wish he would buy some better shooting boots though.

He hasn't signed, someone dug up this topic from two years ago.Monkey Boy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 8:41 am Didn’t say he wasn’t Biggsy but here’s a thought. You mean to say I’ve done all this “ranting and raving” (as Huxley pointed out) for nothing when I could have been at Tesco’s with the other arf

There’s going to be a lot of changes this summer. I’d happily see him stay as part of the squad to keep some consistency.BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 8:35 am He’s a good squad player. A lot worse players at the club.

I don't see what he brings to the team, he doesn't excel in any particular area. Time to move on.

Have to agree. Plenty of energy, but very little else.
Got to say, I was a bit disappointed he got the captaincy - to me it sends the message that this is the grade of player we're happy with.
He's not L1 standard and shouldn't be in our future plans if we're serious about kicking on.

If he is offered a new contract that will speak volumes about the club’s ambitions.

You need players like Clay who will run his bollocks off without any moaning in any squad if you want to get promotion.
Get him signed.
Get him signed.

Sorry. He is f ing useless. Offers absolutely nothing. Oh, and watch how many times he touches his captains armband today. Really winds me up.

You seriously think clay would be a starter in a team that gets promoted from league two?BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 11:36 am You need players like Clay who will run his bollocks off without any moaning in any squad if you want to get promotion.

Re: 2 year extension - Craig Clay
What part of ‘in any squad’ didn’t you get? There are better players out there but he has spent the last 3 years doing all the leg work for his midfield partners. Our midfield is nowhere near the reason we won’t get promotionBeradogs wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 12:54 pmYou seriously think clay would be a starter in a team that gets promoted from league two?BiggsyMalone wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 11:36 am You need players like Clay who will run his bollocks off without any moaning in any squad if you want to get promotion.

Re: 2 year extension - Craig Clay
I think people think he’s worth getting in as a squad player cos he’s here already. Players like him are ten a penny in league two. Time to freshen things up. He’ll almost certainly get a contract, though.
