Re: Nigel Travis statement
Possibly will be kept in house for a bit. It would be almost impossible for a new, outside manager to come in at this time.

Yep, I think everyone at the club has handled the whole situation really well.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
Nigel mentioned appointments on Wednesday will be In House not a new manager.
Makes sense as still very different times for all.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
The important thing is to remember that we must honour JE by getting behind the new appointment and all the players for 90+ minutes every game and push them to League 1. But we must not forget that everybody on the pitch is gonna be mighty chewed up by this horrid loss.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
Good words from Nigel. My only slight disappointment is the hesitation/ uncertainty of renaming the West Stand because let's be honest, if a commercial sponsor came in it would be renamed in an instant.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
Nigel is a class act. You can see with his acumen and Kent's drive how Justin found our club to be a place in which he could prosper. I suspect that the new appointment will cherish those luxuries and hopefully take the club forward on the foundations laid by Martin Ling and the afore-mentioned trio.

Ever thought the Family might have a say to what the club do to honour JERBMarshall wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:18 pm Good words from Nigel. Why damage the club's finances by doing it? Silly.RBMarshall wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:18 pm Good words from Nigel. My only slight disappointment is the hesitation/ uncertainty of renaming the West Stand because let's be honest, if a commercial sponsor came in it would be renamed in an instant.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
The contrast in the communication strategy over the last two years compared to the previous three is just off the Richter scale. I feel that the club is in very safe hands now and is being run by really good people.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
Lovely words from Nigel.
Totally understand the idea of keeping it in-house as it would be nigh on impossible for someone else to come in under these awful circumstances. But I’m intrigued as to how this is going to pan out. You need someone in charge with ultimate responsibility, it can’t be a committee.

I’m not sure that’s the most appropriate way to remember Justin anyway. Of course something suitable will be done in good time.RBMarshall wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:18 pm Good words from Nigel. Re: Nigel Travis statement
After listening to Nigel my guess would be Danny Webb . He has the experience of managing the team two or three years ago.CreamofSumYungGai wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:59 pm Lovely words from Nigel.

Don’t think this is the new shirt.Give it to Jabo wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:43 pm Came across well. Horrid, horrid times. (Liked the new shirt)
It’s gonna be “New Balance “ brand isn’t it ??
Nige’ Is wearing a Nike one.
Anyway Good communication from the club, as usual , at this very difficult time.
Obviously talks are going on behind the scenes about JE’s replacement........not sure if we should try and go outside the club for a ‘name’ or not.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
Dont think thats why. If it was sponsored it would just be the 'Rainham Steel Justin Edinburgh Stand' or whatever. Same as the Tommy Johnston stand.RBMarshall wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:18 pm Good words from Nigel. Re: Nigel Travis statement
Where is everyone getting the idea that it's an in-house appointment? He said they want to keep the coaching set-up together and build on it.

Re: Nigel Travis statement
Good video (aside from whoever was filming).
My guess would be that Ross/Danny will be joint managers with Jobi and Brill moving into part time assistant/coaching roles.
I think it might be short term though and we might get a perm manger around November.
Fully on board with that approach, my only worry is if we started really badly. We cant risk going down but would be harsh to sack anyone given the circumstance and how they would have been thrown in the deep end in horrible circumstances.
