Nothing. I think that this message board is great entertainment. Excellent source of banter.
An entirely specious attempt to lay your previous idiotic posts at the door of banter. Why don't you just hold your hands up and admit you mis-boarded.
I’m happy to admit that my comments about the owners were misjudged.

Ideally this year as that’s what the board expected after our performers showed that he team was capable of doing so. He agrees with me that the squad is a top 3 team. He did say though if we don’t go up this year we have to go up next year.

Investors are really impressed with what we are doing, and so much that the club may have to realign their goals and end goals. He never said if that’s championship or premier league. What he did say was if we get to league one we would reassess for the league above,

It won't stop the thickos who just don't understand (or those with more intelligence who refuse to understand).

Travis re-iterated (must have heard this a dozen times at least) that there is a transfer committee that includes Ling and others with accountability over the decisions made, but again that won't stop those people deliberately ignoring this and targeting individual members of the committee instead when they're not happy about a transfer in or out.
This is how committees work. Each person will bring their own personal expertise and viewpoint. The expertise Ling brings is is knowledge of football in general and players in particular. He will the the one recommending names, in and out.

The rest of the committee will question, in a positive way, and correctly so, the whys and wherefores of his views and in the case of the existing squad maybe throwin some names of their own.

But as DoF Ling is the expert, prepared to explain his views, be challenged. But ultimately unless the committee can come up with good reason, Ling’s expertise will carry the day.

But the head coach/manager is also on the transfer committee and so will also have input into the transfers. If they make a case for a player/position then that will also carry weight.

Just because you've been doing something a long time doesn't mean you're any good at it.

I don't know him, and have no personal beef with him, but his record is average at best. Even as O's manager you could make a case that it was Dean Smith who was doing the heavy lifting based on their subsequent careers.

He's done a stellar job of convincing the owners that he is some sort of footballing oracle, but I'm not convinced. He knows he's onto a good thing with owners based overseas, but there's nothing there to suggest he has the ability to match our owners ambition.

Couldn’t imagine it was like this under Barry.
He gave the manager a budget and if he cocked it up he sacked him.
All very simple.
What is the point of having a “ expert” if you are going to question everything.

Having a pop at people on message boards because they have a different opinion to you seems rather petty.

I don’t think the owners see him as an oracle. They rely on his expertise as they a) don’t have a footballing background / connections themselves and b) live in America.

If the owners weren’t happy with him, he wouldn’t still be here. Yeah he may end up not being able to take us to where the owners want to be, and his time may come to an end as a result, but so far he’s hired arguably our best manager ever, his signings have been more good than bad and we’ve improved our league position each year.

He hasn’t got everything right but I don’t see how you can argue with the value he’s brought to the club as dof

I can agree he’s brought some value to the club, but could we have done even better. Sure, he bought in Justin, but he also bought in Carl and Steve. He convinced Ross he could do a job he couldn’t do. He brought in his own son, and publicly dressed down a rival for his position. He’s surrounded himself with coaches beholden to him, and that seldom ends well for anyone. He’s not a liability, but he’s holding us back - I’m sure of it

Hence why you have a committee to push back and challenge ML. I have not agreed with everything he has done, but I’d say he is still in the credit side of the ledger. I’d keep the role and I’d keep ML as well from our limited sight of what he does do.

Good summary.

Now they seem to have spun up a transfer committee because they either don’t trust him to do his job or see it as a way of deflecting blame off of him.

Where to start with this rubbish?
It can be started with the fact that very few decent
applications for the job were received after Justin passed .
Who is really going to put their reputation up
against a Hero who tragically passed away ?

They would find it hugely difficult to motivate a team dealing with that .

The other applications were from inexperienced
failures excluding Adams who probably didnt fit personality wise.

But they quickly gloss over this as if it doesnt matter

Have you been messaged? If not don’t worry, you don’t register with them.

How long does the chat with Nigel go on for? I listened to a good 15 minutes then saw the orange bar at the bottom had barely moved across so gave up.

Christ. Fair play to Nigel but what did they have to talk about? Could have played the Ross sacking and Jobi interview in full and still taken less time.
