Re: **NIGEL TRAVIS EXCLUSIVE CHAT**
Talked about the playoffs being a possibility (they ain’t) but nothing to lose by giving it a shot.
Believes we have a top 5 squad.
We haven’t, and this will show in the next few weeks.
The team has not been strengthened where it should have been, that is 2 full backs, 1 number 9 and 2 wide attacking players with pace.
There are no goals in this team.
I think Jobi will get a bit more out of them, but I don’t see us getting anywhere near the playoffs.
That ship has sailed.

Re: **NIGEL TRAVIS EXCLUSIVE CHAT**
So many questions and observations for Nigel after that. Thought you both asked some very good questions, excellent stuff
-Some teams won’t be able to play all the games and we wanted to take advantage of their misfortune. Kicked off about not being able to play Spurs in the cup though
-Said we can’t afford to give an external recruit 3+ games to assess the squad, that’s a reason they went for Jobi. Seemed happy to go into the summer possibly having to get a new manager in who would then have no games or training to assess the squad and most of them out of contract
-It’s RE part 2. Jobi is interim because he might end up hating it and the club might not like how things are going.
-Seems like the ‘manager’ title and Jobi stepping away from so much on field coaching will be to put a barrier between him and the players. Incredibly difficult to go from colleague to boss.
-Nigel stated we need a leader to get us out of the slump. He’s been the captain and a coach all year, what has he actually been doing? He was in prime position for leadership.
Plenty more to unpick including Matt Harrold is a coach afterall and the David Brent-esq definition of the word risk . I don’t buy what he’s saying on the most part but fair play to him and Kent for doing these interviews.

A little worry is he talks like a fan rather than a owner.
I think talk of the Championship is pie in the sky for a club our size, just look at the mess some clubs of our size are in who got there.
Should be a interesting couple of months.
It will be a brave man who can predict Tuesdays game, but I don’t suddenly see us finding our scoring boots with the same players.

If Matt Harold is our attacking coach, he needs to rethink whether this is the right career choice for him

I thought Harrold was taken on to assess and look at teams we are due to play. Waste of money if he was retained as a attacking coach. How many out of contract players will be kept on and given other posts within the club.ContrifibulatoryFred wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 7:45 am If Matt Harold is our attacking coach, he needs to rethink whether this is the right career choice for him

Congratulations chaps. One of the best shows you have done. Can I make a suggestion - Leave out going through each match on a minute by minute script of the action very boring. We all know what happened.Orientoutlookpodcast wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 11:08 pm Hi everyone, episode 236 of the Orient Outlook Podcast is now available to download on iTunes, www.soundcloud.com/orient-outlook, Spotify, Stitcher, TuneIn and Android Apps.

Gave Ross 'highly appropriate' 'Feedback' hmmm
Were first team players consulted over Jobi? No. His answer to this hints that they have a mole in the dressing room though. (Hi Sam)

Re: **NIGEL TRAVIS EXCLUSIVE CHAT**
Got to disagree with this, I like to hear what others think of specific moments through the games, there's very little of it as it is. It also gives them case evidence when they choose to criticise a player, like they did with Thompson and Happe in episode 236. I'm not interested in other bits but it's easy enough to fast-forward through those.moonwalk19 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 9:01 am Congratulations chaps. One of the best shows you have done. Re: **NIGEL TRAVIS EXCLUSIVE CHAT**
How refreshing it is to have an open and honest chairman like Nigel, didn't duck anything and completely up front as always. We do have a decent squad but we have lost our way because of the formation and the negative and cautious approach that Ross brought. I do think Jobi with the experience he has and having played for some top managers will prove a good choice, maybe too late to get to the play offs this season we probably need ten wins to get there but I'm more optimistic it might happen now than I was on Saturday morning. I look at the way two inexperienced coaches have galvanised Bradford City and think well why not.
Only a couple of months ago we were seventh in the table and our squad has more depth now than we had then. The reasons he gave for Jobis appoint are valid and sensible, Jobi is a leader everyone respects him and I hope the fans get behind him I know most will.
Things off the field are obviously coming together, the board has held this club together through difficult Covid times the investment thats in the pipeline could do wonders for this club and from the sound of it it's moving closer step by step.
COYO's.

Re: **NIGEL TRAVIS EXCLUSIVE CHAT**
Top marks to Nigel Travis and the Board. Having listened to it I am impressed with how the club have handled a very difficult situation and come to the decisions they have.
We all know there are no guarantees in football but the attitude of not giving up and going for it is spot on.
The decision to go with Jobi as interim is spot on. As is the role of Manager and not Head Coach.
Perhaps some people on here need to look at their own personal levels of negativity.

Yep Nigel confirmed in the first 5 minutes of the pod that he reads the board
Fair play to him for explaining yet again why we have a DOF. Patience of a saint

Travis re-iterated (must have heard this a dozen times at least) that there is a transfer committee that includes Ling and others with accountability over the decisions made, but again that won't stop those people deliberately ignoring this and targeting individual members of the committee instead when they're not happy about a transfer in or out.
