Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
I called it. He was screaming at the players on Saturday. A little nod to upstairs that Ross needs to go ASAP and I am your man. I think Jobi will go to the very top in management so happy to have him here on the start of the journey.

Wonder whether he will now play less often.
Glad it was him rather than Senda, who a few people on here were overrating because he did a couple of interviews that they liked.

Love the guy but my goodness what a sh*thouse appointment.
Wish him all the best.
We are going to be in League 2 for a very long time if this is the type of leadership the club is comfortable with.

Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
Hmm - I hope he can move easily from on the field skipper to off the field motivator, because I do feel that's a lot of what this group of players need - motivation.
Have we seen the last of him in an Orient shirt on the field? Maybe yes, maybe no.
I don't agree 100% with the appointment, but he'll have my & Mrs NES' 100% support and best wishes.
COYOs
C'mon Jobi make us smile.

Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
Hmmmm, on one hand another amateur and the cosy setup continues. On the other hoping that it means definitely a temporary appointment as I doubt he'll want to let the media work go.
More of a natural leader than Embleton personality-wise so that's at least one promising factor. Whether he'll stand up to Ling remains to be seen. Makes the Tuesday away stream worth watching just to see what playing style changes he implements.

It does. Maybe I'll fork out the tenner instead of just listening to DD's commentary.

How do you know that McAnuff would prefer media work to a head coach job?

Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
It's a free hit, really, both for the club and for Jobi - and that's not a criticism of the appointment. He's loved by all, so (hopefully) the fans will cut him some slack. There's less expectation on him because of the last several weeks (and the fact it's an interim appointment) - so he can manage a bit more freely.
I wish him all the very best - I like him, I like the way he speaks and gets his point across - I'm not unhappy with it.

Will be interesting as to how this works out and also different what system Jobi will employ.gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 3:09 pm Hmmmm, on one hand another amateur and the cosy setup continues. Wonder if Jobi will play, put himself on the bench, or even in the stands, interesting times and dare I say it, if a run of good form follows, still not too late to get into the play offs.

Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
I think the thing I'm miffed at is the interim status. Happy if that was for a few games but the news release suggests it is until the end of the season.StillSpike wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 3:14 pm It's a free hit, really, both for the club and for Jobi - and that's not a criticism of the appointment. He's described as the interim manager rather than interim head coach. Probably just lazy writing but who knows.

He already said earlier in the season he didn't want to give up the media work hence why he stepped back from the coaching side and just focused on playing.

Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
Good luck Jobi go out and get us those wins we badly need. I said I would be gappy with your appointment as your a born winner and leader. Now for the next step in your career and I couldn't be happier than it starting here.
Drive the team and club forwards and please for your own sake don't let Ling interfere in what you do. Be your own man, like Justin was.

The “cosy setup” where managers have been sacked after 3 months (Davis), 4 weeks (fletcher) and 13 months (Ross)...gshaw wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 3:17 pmWhat's the link meant to show, am I missing something there?Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Sun Feb 28, 2021 3:13 pm

What's he supposed to say? "Yeah, I'd give up the media work in a heartbeat if the Orient job was available". Don't be such a plank. Why bother to do the coaching badges if you don't want to go into that.
Or is this setting you up for your bitchy digs again so you can say "He didn't want the job, Ling forced him to take it. FFS Ling!"

Re: Jobi McAnuff appointed interim Head coach
Reasonably happy with that. Let's see what he can do for the rest of the season. He's well like, well respected and has an aura of authority about him. Does he know how to get this team firing? We're about to see.
