I'm mpressed with the group.brining these actions. However, what happens next? Is this just to embarrasse the government or can something actually come of this?
I know if I act unlawfully or I break the law I'm sure I'd be in the cop shop answering questions.

In Johnson' efforts to please his fan club of Brexiteers (by presenting himself as tough and uncompromising) here is yet another major industry and livelihoods he destroyed:

Re: Tory Watch
Tuffers. There are 3 obvious reasons why are death rate is high.
1. A heavily populated country. 67 million in a country half the size of France and Spain making it much easier to spread.
2. A decent NHS and high standard of living meaning a highly aged population.
3. Highest obesity rates in Western Europe.
It is not easy to compare death rates

Maybe George we should compare the UK to that
world powerhouse with a bigger population but a
much smaller land mass ?

Re: Tory Watch
That’s probably a good reason for not comparing countries without all the facts. Better to stick to European countries.
I suspect that when this ends , and all the factors are taken into account, all of Europe will be equally as bad.

Re: Tory Watch
The numbers to compare are deaths per 100000 and the Brits are flying high on this.
As for the glorious vaccine provision to outdo the EU: the UK government bought them before they had passed all the customary safety checks and our government indemnified the manufacturers against any adverse consequences! Yes, in order to score political points against the EU (and in support of Brexit) this government was willing to risk people suffering serious adverse consequences.
Remember thalidomide?
Should a responsible government really take such risks on possible detrimental consequences just to manipulate the public perception?

Re: Tory Watch
Deaths per 100000 don’t tell the true story though do they. Tuffers doesn’t get it. If 100000 live in the whole of France and 100000 live on the Isle of White , where do you think the death rate will be higher. There would be virtually no deaths in France , but huge numbers on the Island.E10EU wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 1:40 amThe numbers to compare are deaths per 100000 and the Brits are flying high on this.

Re: Tory Watch
Our average life expectancy is about the same as the other countries you've mentioned, we tend to live in less dense cities than Spain, France, Italy etc so the comparison you're making is a bit redudant. The size of the country matters less than the density of places where people actually live. For example, Barcelona is 8x as densely populated as London.
We've objectively handled this awfully.
