Not putting this all on cisse, but we are so less effective without hector.

Colchester are set up well but we cannot counter for toffee. Every time they disrupt their shape by attacking and then lose the ball, we inevitably end up losing any momentum by playing safety first. We kind of have to do that because our attackers get isolated when attacking on the counter, there's no real shape to our forward line.

Go 442 and take a chance. This formation is not working again.

Agreed.

Clearly better than L2.

Hard to see where a goal is coming from - especially as we're far too slow in getting forward. Abrahams has been given nothing to work with.

Yep, him and Akinola looks like a really good partnership developing, they complement each other nicely. Big fan of Happe's but he's not going to get into the team as long as these two keep their form up.

Neither team scored in their last 3 games. 0-0 at half time. Didn't see that coming.

Cisse can’t beat a man. Clay can’t beat a man. Freeman is still getting up to speed. When you have all 3 in the middle playing sideways it becomes very difficult.

Just swap Happe for Akinola.

We dont play 4-3-3 properly.
In a 4-3-3, the front three should be playing close together, then interchanging positions, making them hard to mark. The width comes from attacking full backs. Liverpool play 4-3-3 well, with Mane, Salah & Firmino constantly interchanging positions making it a nightmare to play against.
What we play is more like a 4-5-1, with the striker isolated.
Ross is scared to commit to playing real attacking football, and as a result, we look crap

This is Steve Davis type football. Slow, boring and unadventurous. No matters what players we get in, Embleton likes this style of play.. 442 is far too dangerous for him to revert to as tippy tappy slow safety football is all he knows.

Hate to say it but he’s right.

What’s even worse is 2 of the 3 in midfield are played too far forward, meaning we get hit on the break.

4-3-3 would be fine if played properly.

Narrow front 3. Attacking full backs. Couple of CMs covering the defence.

He clearly didn't mean in terms of ability. His point is valid that a static 4-3-3 becomes a 4-5-1. That's fine if you're massive underdogs but we're not. We either get the fullbacks high and wide and tuck the two wide forwards in or we play a different system.

Of course its about ability .
The ability to run for 90 minutes at high tempo .
Hence why they are footballers at the higher end
Of the athletic spectrum !!

Pity the same can't be said of the TV show.
