So bad.

Police swooped on covid rule breakers in east London and slapped up to £49,400 of fines on them in just one evening.
Officers and council officials joined forces to break up illegal gatherings in the borough of Waltham Forest.
A total of 36 people were reported for fines of up to £800 while two face £10,000 penalties.
The busts took place on Friday with police breaking up a party in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, with revellers trying to hide in a stairwell and others trying to escape across an extension. There were 35 people at the illegal event and the two organisers were hit with £10,000 fines.
Also during their patrol police spotted a group inside a takeaway premises in Hoe Street, Walthamstow smoking shisha and drinking. Three people were issued £200 fixed penalty notices (FPNs).
In another breach 22 people were hit with fines of up to £800 after being found drinking at a venue in High Road, Leytonstone.
Superintendent Waheed Khan, Metropolitan Police, said: “There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that we are in the throes of a deadly pandemic; and the fact some businesses continue to function in direct contradiction of the current restrictions quite frankly beggars belief.
"Police officers and special constables are working closely with councils and other groups to make sure that the rules – in place to save lives and protect the NHS - are being followed. Please do your bit to help these officers who are working hard to protect you.”
Cllr Clyde Loakes, deputy leader of Waltham Forest council, said: “By this point there can be no-one claiming to be unaware of the serious situation we are in and the responsibilities we all have to try and stop the spread of Covid-19.
"I am disappointed to say the least to see that council officers, police colleagues, and special constables are yet again having to risk their safety because a small minority of people simply do not give a damn about others.

An 80+ years young old boy ipstairs from me ,
Has had a group gathering every Tuesday since the 2nd
Week of lockdown for a singing group he had went to that was closed down.
Probably only 4or 5 of them & as yet i havent said a word to anyone .
There are only him me & 2 other flats in the block .
Just disinfect the lock & handle in the evening & rarely touch them
With my hands .
Fortunately had some surgical type gloves left over from caring duties .

Lockdown fatigue is setting in and you will see more people going to see family and friends. My next door neighbour has seen his new Grandchild once in the last 6 months and he is not in a good way mentally because of that.

London a couple of years back .
1 of his 2 sons lives a 100 yards away & his other sonbis in billericy .
Hardly knows anyone down here & it only last an hour to an hour & a half.
I think he may have got a jab recently , the woman opposite rarely opens her front
Door other than for her tesco delivery & the girl opposite me is young
enough not to be to concerned .

Re: Covid fines totalling £49k slapped on east London rule breakers in one evening
isn't this so difficult. Rule breakers can cause real harm to all of us in helping to extend the pandemic and cause hospitalisation and perhaps death. We are all probably pissed off with the situation. My group are mostly aged in the 60's and 70s. The youngest one, the younger brother of others in the group is 58 and he is the worst one of all of us for rule breaking. I say worst, he is probably the only one. He isn't a scum bag, he is actually a Magistrate so participates in sitting in judgement on others

Obviously not family as that may imply numerous households.
Ie a support bubble would allow the neighbour to visit & stay overnight
As it would be viewed as 1 household .

I have to be honest and say if I was in that situation I would go and visit.

Haven’t even got a support bubble and I’ve got a 3 month old. Can barely get a health visitor to come nevermind family.
