Burqas

Post by Esteban »

If I go to a patrol station I have to take my motorcycle helmet off when I go in to pay.

However, if I were a Muslim woman wearing a burqa I wouldn’t have to take that off.

Seems a bit odd to me. Why are the rules about covering faces different?

Maybe if you were to head butt the cashier the employee would get hurt by the helmet, if a person in a burqa did it then there would be less damage caused.

Don't forget all companies have a duty of care to their employees.

There are some interesting comments on this message board

So if I set up a site called the "unofficial Presitge Worldwide board" which was used as a platform to spread Islamophobia and support the far-right you'd have no issue with that because it's "unofficial"? Actually, I think I already know the answer to that ...
June 04 2019 at 12:35pm
Feel free to set up your own forum based on that model. surely it wouldn’t be too difficult to separate the current model, where islamophobia and whinging about political correctness are mixed in with the genuine football chat, or it is your intention to host a forum for this kind of behaviour? ...
June 04 2019 at 12:11pm
... bitching about this place over on Mungos. Thanks for drawing to my attention the existence of an alternative message board. Is that one full of Islamophobia, far-right sympathisers and endless amounts of tedious political threads too? Or is it actually a decent, well run Orient board? Asking .
June 04 2019 09:32am

All above in the thread entitled Strong Words

Why is a Leyton Orient message board slowly turning into a refuge for thinly veiled Islamophobia? Really, really disappointing and I seriously hope the admins take appropriate action. There is a wildly disproportionate amount of threads on this board about Islam
30 May 2019 12:20pm

.. isn't bigotry in an attempt to make the initial act of bigotry appear less serious. To be honest, there's no need to try to normalise things like Islamophobia around here has clearly the admins don't take a particularly strong stance against it.
23 May 2019 10:25am
... I’d opine that it’s bad form for a message board for a club based in an area which has a reasonable Muslim community to turn a blind eye to causal Islamophobia. What’s even more questionable is that the same message board took a really hard stance against somebody (me) who decided to stick up for ...
23 May 2019 10:12am

.. but the answer would appear to be as to what the admin think is relative to the actual subject . And, apparently, if the subject is casual Islamophobia then you're all good on this board. But whatever you do, don't defend Leyton Orient against somebody who constantly posts negative diatribe .

Think of it like this.

If I ran on the pitch at full time against Sutton (H) last season I probably would have been tackled, thrown out and banned from the stadium, but if i did it (even if that meant ruining other peoples experience of it) after the Braintree game, it would be acceptable.

Hope you get it now.

Good question. Thinking about it, not sure ive seen anyone wearing on at an Orient game before. Might be worth the club leafleting local mosques to get a more diverse crowd in.

Apple w, The club tried that a few seasons back when they gave freebies to the local mosques. They turned up with their entire families , not at all interested in the football but having picknicks , sharing food and shuffling from seat to seat. I constantly had to stand up to let a couple of boisterous kids sitting in my row run past.
In any event I don’t think any of them would return once they had to pay . Thanks , but no thanks.

Lucky seven, I was Referring solely to the occasion when we gave the mosques freebies and they turned up en mass .
Nothing to do with any other season ticket holder Muslim or not, just an accurate description of the events of that day.
Try not to make insulting comments.

Well no, you were banned for relentless sh*t stirring and borderline defamation, as stated. Glad to see you've
used the last few days to have a really good think.

A polite request to nip your hilarious faux racism/Mod testing in the bud and then maybe we can all get along nicely.

Do you think a community club would target just Mosques too give freebies away I think not and plenty of people take picnics and shuffle around with noisy kids no matter what ethnicity they might be.Thanks but no thanks quote give you away
