The printing of money and low interest rates will always extend the difference between rich and poor.

For example in 1979 the average CEO of a top UK company only earned 4 times the average of there workers, now it is over 100 times. This is purely because of money printing. If we had a finite supply as we did when on the gold standard then the difference between rich and poor would be significantly closer.

This is not about capitalism it is about money printing.

So definitely on the way down. It looks like the number of deaths has started to turn. Last week is generally viewed as the highest number of deaths within a week. The main reason is respiratory illnesses.

We had 85,000 excess deaths last year, around 7,000 would be the expected increase, due to the demographic. Over 30,000 were in homes, with the majority taking place in April/May.

Hospital admissions growth is now really slowing, up only by 7% in the latest seven days data. Hancock has just said that occupancy is at its highest since the pandemic started but hopefully this week is going to be the peak.

599 deaths yesterday below the recent average, I think it was reasonable to expect a high number today. Very sad thats a lot of people losing their lives.

Better nerws though is that yesterdays 37535 Poisitive cases from 556689 tests gave an average rate of 6.74% positives the lowest since 12th December.

Yeah, clearly there has been some lag from the weekend (and earlier) in reporting of deaths and I'm expecting the same when it comes to new cases (even though it's slightly down on yesterday). Patients admitted data is at least almost flat, increasing by only 3.6% in the latest seven day data.

Looked back over the last two weeks and Weds & Thurs had higher figures for infections than all but one other day in that period, so I agree infections likely to tick upwards slightly over the next two days. Overall though over the Five days period Friday 15th to Tuesday19th they are nearly 25% down on the same period the previous week. Encouraging.
