Assange wins his Appeal
Well he has done it and won!
What do you think?
Incidentally, I am not Andy Gilsen (although honoured to think that this is the assumption) , I am neither Tor or Doug also. Up The O’s!

Tuffer, you will be happy as I know you revere the man. Did you ever go up to the Ecuadorean Embassy and wave banners and shout your disgust and support ?

Shouldnt be extraditing anyone to the states until they send us that woman who killed Harry Dunn.
Are they still holding Assange and if so, what for?

Re: Assange wins his Appeal
The authorities are launching an Appeal against the decision. He is still in custody for the same extradition application for crimes in the USA. I reckon his lawyers will probably apply for Bail pending the Appeal.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 11:33 am Shouldnt be extraditing anyone to the states until they send us that woman who killed Harry Dunn.

Yes, the Harry Dunn matter must be dealt with. Horrendous case that. Family must be destroyed mentally having to cope with it.

He should be released immediately. His incarceration is a shameful stain on our democracy.

Re: Assange wins his Appeal
I agree with the post above, he should be released now, its been a disgraceful episode.
The Americans are appealing this decision, and that a worry. The Yanks have tremendous clout, and they will put pressure on our government, to reach 'the right verdict', as far as they are concerned,
Assange is the good guy, letting the world know about the bad guys, but it has been he who is in trouble, and the bad guys 'got away with it'
Crazy world we're living in

There is an Appeal pending. He is applying for Bail. He has jumped bail before. Has previous.
Let the system take it's course.

Why is he actually being held though? What are the charges besides offending the USA and by extension, us?Oiram wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:01 pmThe wheels of justice turn slowly in the UK. Re: Assange wins his Appeal
He's in prison now for jumping his original bail think he got 50 weeks inside for that so would've thought he be out some time this month as i thought he was sentenced in May. They normally get a 1/3rd off the sentence if they've behaved them selves though not sure if this will be applicable here.Disoriented wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 8:18 amWhy is he actually being held though? At present , he is being held as an Appeal is pending against the Judge’s decision , made on on Monday. I think is lawyers are applying for Bail pending the Appeal tomorrow. That will be an interesting decision as he skipped Bail couple of times the last time leading him to be holed up in the Ecuadorean Embassy for years.

Let this and the case of Chelsea Manning be a warning to anyone who dares to expose the US.

At this point it’s all about making a point. He’ll either mysteriously die or get a small sentence.
It’s all another dangerous sign of an increasingly authoritarian west.

Let's not forget that he did nothing wrong.
All he did was expose the war crimes of an Imperial USA.

Re: Assange wins his Appeal
It was always going to be that Assange would be sent to America, because we always do what the Yanks want.
He is going on trial, for exposing the truth, whilst the criminals that shot and killed innocent civilians walk free, and will not be going on trial.
I believe he will be found guilty, in the States, and its a warning to journos all over the world, to not publish anything that governments want to keep secret
