The campaign should have been called All Lives Matter , no matter what colour or creed.
If it had been called All Lives Matter would you have been OK with the kneeling then?

Enjoyed the part where you said players taking a stand against racism is obviously hypocritical due to the fact some feign injury. More reach than Lennox Lewis, that.
Most of them do not give a flying f*** ,just doing the kneeling bit out of habit and the public aren't taking much notice anymore . If you cant see that you must be blind .

A presumably white guy tells black players and their colleagues how to run their campaign, then can't understand what the problems with racism in society are.

I was sent a video on WhatsApp yesterday of Charlton Palmer talking about racism when he played, like he said its not changed one iota. He was quite clear that he has suffered for work for standing up for Big Ron and that the BBC would never have him working there as they are the most racist media platform out there!
The BBC racist? Really? Look at the make up of their presenters lately.

Perhaps Carlton Palmer is just not good enough to be employed by the BBC but rather than accept the fact it must be because of his skin colour.
Alex Scott , jermaine jenas , Dion Dublin , Jermaine Beckford,
Ian Wright Wright , im sure there are a couple more black
former players working at the beeb .

Thorbin does know how to show himself up .
Tokenism tuffers that's all they are doing.

Look at the highest paid person / presenter at the BBC zone Ball - really? She is useless, but it fits their agenda to say look we have made a women the highest paid. Is she worth it? Nope rubbish presenter and host.

Until recently where were all these women presenters? Black presenters? Nowhere by and large.

I was listening to Eddie Nestor on Radio London and he was talking about equality for black people in TV and radio and he said and I quote "before BLM started I was never offered any work outside of my main job, now and I suspect its because of my skin colour I have been offered more work than I could have ever imagined. Radio, TV, commercials everything. The telling point will be will these offers still be forthcoming in a year? I suspect not, but only time Will tell"

So why would he think like that then tuffers?

Indeed. Maybe it's because it's the time of year for classic repeats? So far in this thread we've had the "I'm booing against the movement" argument, the "I'm not racist, but I'm bored of it" argument, the "But young people aren't racist!" argument, and of course the "All Lives Matter!" argument. All rehashed from before.

Racism hasn't gone away. If the players want to kneel before every game until further notice, then go for it.

If someone boos this anti racist gesture they are a racist. Its as simple as that.

If they come to Orient and do it I will ask the club to ban then in line with their stated values and practice regarding this matter.
100% agree, there can be no ifs or buts.
Cant say it any better than this
It is perfectly valid to hold a view that sport and politics shouldn't mix, it does imply that one a racialist, and if one wants to express that opinion verbally it's an affront to free speech if they can't. If they start making racialistic insults or threats that is against the law and I'd want to see the person arrested as much as you all would, but you can't close down free speech to make people agree with you, for that's a very dangerous path to be on.

To clarify it always has to be free speech within the law, one can't go around threatening and abusing people for example, that's just wrong and is an offence (and rightly so). Booing isn't an offence, it is an expression of disagreement, and that right to free speech (within the law) must be maintained. I’d suggest existing laws on race and free speech are good enough, let’s not try to rewrite them for within football grounds.

Nice to hear that! Used to go there regularly to shop, especially market day. Nice coffee in that old Portuguese cafe that has been there years. I had a holiday home near Bawdeswell
for years. Do miss going there, may buy another one day. So easy to get there from the hustle and bustle of London. Always enjoyed Christmas up there and the Kings Arms in Reepham.
