Last week when I did my shop for the food bank I felt really bad about putting in two boxes of Porridge sachets so I opted for the syrup flavoured ones.

I've often pondered this. I think it comes down to the belief that when they get there they don't want someone undeserving taking it off them. Of course 99.9% never get they're though, but that doesn't seem to matter.

There's a similar mentality with immigration. There's a large percentage of first time immigrants who think the country is overpopulated and shouldn't let more immigrants in. It's very much a shut the door behind me philosophy

And the fact that UNICEF having to step in causes hardly a ripple in the UK is one hell of an indictment on how uncaring we've become. It's a huge scandal and a clear indication of how much damage the Tories have done. But we've just got used to it and it passes almost unnoticed amongst all the other crap.

I make no judgements regarding nutrition. I just know people love syrup flavoured porridge.

But to be fair I did put a jar of strawberry jam in last week even though the Food bank bosses are not keen on that sort of thing.

I am not convinced most mothers would not feed their kids at least something in the morning. We use to have big toast and jam and cereal or porridge which would last us until lunch and lovely school dinners (they were!) I got mine free as we had large family 7 siblings and had to shout ‘free school dinners’ when asked for our dinner money. I think expectations are too high these days. If you cannot get a £50 takeaway delivered , classed as poor! I get annoyed seeing these delivered meal to homes where the kids living there look like they could do with some exercise.

I have been unemployed for a year and received JSA at £73 .10 for 6 months.
I now receive nothing.
It means I have to live off my savings which means watching every penny I spend.
That means no £22 Fish & Chips on a Friday ( unless my better half is paying)
No £5.00 pints of Bitter down the pub and no sky sports.
And a pay as you go phone.
It’s called budgeting your money sensibly.
