I won't say that the insurgents have been patient, rather they have been dogged. The insurgents started coming to the fore, in the time of John Major's Premiership. They were always a tiny vocal minority, but their whingeing, hectoring and constant pressuring, got them publicity way beyond their size ( but they had many media friends ). The thing about democracy is you have to be mature enough to accept it when if it doesn’t go your way as well as rejoice when it does. Where too many people in other parts of the world are unable to do that they end up with something far worse!

No election or referendum is ever free of ambitious claims by each side or ultra-negative views expressed as to what the other side is saying and its impact. Everyone has to make a judgement call to consider all factors before deciding which way to place one’s vote.

Calling foul of the result or implying those who voted for the other side are stupid just comes over as being a bad loser by being unable to accept the result.
