I live in South Woodford and I often used to see Dean Cox, he used to live in the flats by the side of the motorway. One day he was crossing George Lane with Moses Odubajo.

Saw Dan Happe outside the Shell garage in Higham’s Park a couple of weeks ago. In training kit. A few years back, I saw Romain Vincelot out for a run in Epping Forest near Snaresbrook.

Saw Elliot Omazusi in Asda in Romford, whilst he was with us.
Was with his wife ( I presume it was his wife ), pushing a trolley along whilst wearing his Orient training top.

I used the same Physio practice in Chase Side that was a joint venture between Bill and Mike Varney the Spurs physio who treated my knee injury before it got really bad. I also occasionally bump into our current CEO when I am out walking my dog and can confirm that he is a very nice bloke, always up for a quick chat.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 3:50 am Lived in the same road as pat holland for decades
Spoke a few times - he was very decent caring person
He went to some trouble four years ago when I went back for the last time - my friends sister asked via me to ask for a photograph of pat in his prime - he knocked on my door six weeks later apologised for the delay and handed me a signed picture addressed to the sister friend
I saw Ian Hendon in a petrol station on the A127 and asked him if he was returning to orient as a player - he said not yet !
I stood next to tommy Taylor and a girl or his wife in 1972 at the bridge house in hornchurch
None wierd just they all live in that area that's all at the time
I saw an ex player behind a counter in his card shop in upminster - it was the guy they got from Watford
I saw Chris Jones ? the forward ex spurs in st helier in jersey I shouted across the road " come on you O,s he looked around and smiled
Mark Lazarus priced a removal when in hornchurch at my house - usd a different company - his business card had every London team he had played for around all four edges of card - that was noticeable I still remember decades later
In the seventies went to a physio at Enfield
Bill Songhurst orient physio was the guy in partnership with the Spurs physio

Having now read the question properly, I must add that I once met Oooh Terry Howard operating a cement mixer in Torremolinos, Spain. He said he was helping his mate build a walk around a rather dingy looking apartment near the beach.
I bought him a Sam Miguel and he told me that he gave his LOFC scarf collection to a jumble sale. He said he did still follow the Os and was a fan of Jabo

Saw Peter Wells at Leyton station one evening. "Going home" he stated. I had no reason to dis-believe him
Saw Sean Thornton and cohorts lashing it up in some boozer in South Woodford on a Friday night. Not sure if this qualifies as 'unexpected', either

Varney ruined my back. I found a good osteopath eventually.Top of the JES wrote: ↑Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:53 pmI used the same Physio practice in Chase Side that was a joint venture between Bill and Mike Varney the Spurs physio who treated my knee injury before it got really bad. Anyone remember Malcolm Slater from the 1970's? I came face to face with him on New Bond St and he was carrying a sports bag. We said hello. Strange thing though, a few months later, he was arrested for shoplifting - I always wondered what was in that bag.

We regularly used to see Paul Brush in a Tesco Gallows corner. Ian would wait until he turned the corner into the next aisle and then shout “Brush Out”

I personally am not for this type of ‘attack’ whilst the recipient is ‘off duty’ as can be very intimidating .

Attack is a bit strong. It probably felt comforting to him as it was so familiar during his time at the Os.

These types of incidents are all well and good but I'm always interested in what the response would be should the subject retaliate in any way.Oiram wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 4:44 pmI personally am not for this type of ‘attack’ whilst the recipient is ‘off duty’ as can be very intimidating .

Used to often see Denis Rofe when as a kid I lived in Loughton, assume he lived somewhere in the vicinity of Oakwood Hill (where I lived), for saw him running by in tracksuit on more than one occasion.

I remember going with my parents to see Cliff Richard and the Shadows who were in Aladdin at the London Palladium in December 1964 and to my surprise the whole Orient squad were there. I got most of their autographs but haven’t got a clue where the autograph book is now.

I met Alberto Cavasin at Holborn station around Midnight back when he was manager. He didn't speak much English but got on an Epping Train whilst I waited for a Hainult one and shouted "Forza Orient" to me as he was getting on.
Seemed like a decent chap.

Re: Weird and unexpected sightings of Leyton Orient Players or Staff past or present
Not sure if this qualifies but on Easter Monday 1970 we played Doncaster away. I went to the match with my girlfriend (now wife of 48 years-yeah I know how to treat a lady). She knew Barrie Fairbrother. We were walking along Doncaster main road and the Orient team coach came past. We were looking at it and Barrie was looking out the window. He did this massive double take when he saw my wife , like WTF is she doing here.
We won 1-0, Barrie scored (I think) and not long after were crowned champions. 50 years ago!

It's probably in the bin with your season ticket.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 1:03 pm I remember going with my parents to see Cliff Richard and the Shadows who were in Aladdin at the London Palladium in December 1964 and to my surprise the whole Orient squad were there.
