Prestige. But surely it will only contain the spread if everyone downloads it. I don’t know the official figures but I do know plenty who won’t download it because they can’t afford 2 weeks off work every time they come into contact. If in a crowd of 20 only 5 people have the download , how will it stop the spread. Better than none having the app I suppose , but not the answer surely

Ha! But imagine if you will, that instead of 20 people the crowd was reduced to 10. How much easier would it be with a smaller population to control the spread then?

Another 20k cases today, with the 7 day rolling average down by 15k over the past 7 day period.

But who has answers to these questions.

1. What is the point of track and trace unless it is compulsory for all. Forget the fact that it is faulty anyway and that if we have a vaccine , track and trace will disappear before it even achieves its purpose.
2. What is the point of testing unless everyone is tested on the same day , on the same minute , and has to stand in the same spot until the result comes through.
3. Bearing in mind that we have failed miserably on points 1 and 2 , how is this Government going to organise a mass vaccine programme.

It has taken 8 months and we still don’t have track and trace operating correctly. How long do people think it will take to organise point 3. It has chaos written all over it
Agree (even if I haven’t downloaded the app)

Can only imagine how badly the rollout of the vaccine is! It’s a logistical nightmare anyway, and it’s being dealt with by the most incompetent people that have ever managed any project, ever.

It’s ok, they’ll just give a Florida jewellery designer a couple of billion pounds and let him sort it out.

The percentage of positive tests, which is the figures we should be seeing not numbers, has been between 6-8% over the last 5 weeks. The percentage had already flattered before lockdown (and is lowering towards 5% yesterday 5.11%), but the dynamic duo obviously did not want to make that clear to the government, who it seems have no comprehension about stats, nor do the opposition either. The phrase - "lies, damm lies and statistics" has been shown to be completely true throughout covid.

FYI. Of the cases in hospitals, which we are told regularly, only 25% are admitted with covid, another 55-60% are tested positive in the first 2 days of entering for procedures (would have been tested before they were allowed to enter the hospital) and 15-20% tested positive after 8 days in hospital. Simply, three quarters of covid patients in hospital probably pick it up from there.

The lateral flow tests, which is not yet fully rolled out is much more accurate than PCR tests, which most of us would have had. These figures are not split, I wonder why?

Good post.

Said a few time’s on here but is there any logical reason why the % positive tests is THE number one stat out there, rather than the number of positives, which is next to useless for comparison sake. Feel like I’m missing something?

I’ve been telling you all this for months. Here are the facts and finally a mainstream media has published them. It might be the daily mail, read it, take it in and realise we are being played on a massive scale.

Pfizer say our drug is 90% coverage then the USA firm says ours is 94.5% coverage then Pfizer say oh yeah we’ve re-evaluated ours and it’s 95% coverage. Wake up people, it’s lies.

All week long I’ve watched and listened to the mainstream media pumping out their propaganda saying you must take the vaccine, you must be inoculated, it’s being pushed to ridiculous levels on something no one knows what the long terms effects might be. They tell us it’s safe, does anyone remember thalidomide? Didn’t the government of the day push that one hard and tell the women it’s safe? What did history say about that?

I’m not against vaccinations, I’m fully vaccinated as our my children however, we have knowledge and history to support what is pumped in our bodies. Anyone got a vaccination for Aids? Or SARS? Or Ebola? And so on? It’s been said on here by others it takes years to find a vaccination and suddenly whilst I except money is being pumped in to find it we’ve gone hey presto and like a London bus they all come along at once, standby for the Oxford one in the next week or two.

I’m also concerned with people in government or big business which pushes government to do their bidding will make billions from this maybe even more. When did profit come before people?

Finally did you see the Danes forced their government to stop the mandatory vaccination of the people this past week? Nope I don't suppose you did cos it was not given much coverage on the MSM. It’s coming here soon and when that happens I’ll be on the streets protesting, having never protested about anything previously. Our freedoms are proper on the line now.

My mother in law is a person you wouldn’t want covid to strike as she would be in real trouble with it. She had to have an operation and prior to it had to self isolate for a week during this period they did a covid test and it came back positive. She did not have any symptoms did not feel ill nothing. They duly cancelled her operation and put her in isolation for I think it was either 10 days or 2 weeks. She never got ill once.

I’m convinced she was in the false positive test group and as SC points out the tests are not reliable or accurate.

Here are some facts of the tests.

The pressure to take it is going to be immense. From Government who just desperately need to us to shop at Pret again, and all the plebs who currently fall into ‘we’ve got a second wave because everyone’s selfish and it’s nothing to do with the incompetent government’ will be the ones hounding people who refuse it.

Unfortunately, I foresee it becoming mandatory in so much as you won’t be allowed to go to events without proving you’ve had it, maybe even things like new employers require it too.

I’m all for a vaccine, of course. But have been given no reason to trust that this government will be thorough in their governance and checks of any short or long term side affects. Nor the companies who are set to make billions from it’s roll out.

It's like when there is an announcement that a lockdown will begin in 5 days, what happens for the next 5 days? People go mad socialising, partying, shopping etc.

Sounds like herd immunity to me.

The main issue I have with the vaccine, is if they make it compulsory, they are showing that they do not understand how our immune system works.

They need to test the immune system as they used to with T B.

Interestingly if they make something compulsory more people refuse to have it. This has been tried before, but it is unlikely that the government will be shown the research results.

It wont be compulsory .
Some patients wont be getting it because it may in fact
over ride a weakened immune system .

On one of the news shows the other morning, 2 specialists
Were asked questions by relatives of people with an array of
Different illnesses ,& they stated it wouldnt be fo.everyone .
However they also said why would you not take it if your medical history
Is in good condition .
So if everyone else becomes vaccinated
they in rurn should be free from catching the virus at all

I get the point you're making, and I really don't trust this lot not to make a complete balls up of the whole thing, but they're in a bit of a bind with the vaccine. To be at all effective, it needs a good % of the population to take it. Sadly, however, and thanks to youtube, facebook, twitter, and insta "experts" - there's much more resistance to vaccines nowadays, hanks to all the wing-nut conspiralooons peddling their "Bill Gates is using it to track you" nonsense and the like. "Never mind what your doctor tells you - there was this video I watched the other night......."

So I guess they'll have to make it somehow compulsory or there's not going to be enough take up to make it effective. Mayby you'll have to prove you've been vaccinated before you can get into a public place (football ground, public transport, pub?)

It'd be great if there was enough voluntary takeup to make it work, but I'm not sure there would be.

No they try to guess what the flu will be and make a strain of that, if you look at the effectiveness of it each year it’s pretty poor tbh.
