Cases have been over 20k a day for about a month now without going much higher. Does this mean deaths should have peaked or be close to peaking?

Not necessarily, as I guess part of it is how hospitals in certain areas are able to cope with the impact of increased patients (including the number of non Covid patients).

That's where they came into contact with an infected individual only, right? And so doesn't take into account being there and picking up an item that an infected person had handled and put back earlier in the day. Agree with what you say about the transmission.

Not necessarily, as I guess part of it is how hospitals in certain areas are able to cope with the impact of increased patients (including the number of non Covid patients).

Yes agreed, the point being that if people are picking the virus up in supermarkets and not being breathed/coughed/sneezed on they have to pick it up somehow, most likely (IMO) from touching contaminated surfaces/packages in the supermarket or from bringing something home with it on (probably less likely).

I've just read the article and there's no evidence really that people are being infected in supermarkets. Of course most people would have visited one prior to a test, little else is open!

Reckon it might something to do with people not going out as much and therefore not only avoiding things like road traffic accident deaths but also not picking up other virus’ like the flu?

I haven’t had a cold since January. It makes sense why, I don’t think common colds are a hoax.

They said for months on end that Mask were a waste of time.
No evidence to suggest they prevent the spread of the virus.
But we all go along with this nonsense.
Perhaps if successive governments hadn’t reduced the hospital beds from 300k in 1990 down to 145k now, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

10m more people and less than half the hospital beds.
